Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia is recruiting on behalf of a leading National company in Electric Vehicle. As expansion continues, our client is seeking a professional with at least 10 years' experience in electric vehicle sector for the job of Lead Mechanical Engineer. The job is based in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Key job responsibilities include:

  • Direct reporting to Head of Product Engineering (Director)
  • Responsible for end-to-end mechanical system development on the motorcycle apart from the electrical system
  • Key deliverables include engineering specifications, product roadmap, motorcycle prototypes, and blueprint for manufacturing
  • Build an engineering team and manage each of the engineering streams that are involved
  • Engineering correction and troubleshooting. Review prototype evaluation and generate a report of any corrective and preventive action necessary to discuss with product lifecycle management team
  • Design for production: collecting all related engineering data, playbook, and reports
  • Work with the manufacturing engineering team to generate updated DED, drawings, and instructions to be used for manufacturing purpose
  • Translate product requirements into a high-level motorcycle concept and detailed specifications across different engineering streams
  • Define timeline, milestones, and deliverables for all streams (entire assembly, sub-assembly, parts, and components)
  • Evaluate and analyse engineering calculations on simulation software, drafting configuration settings, and assess manufacturability of prototype design

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • More than five years of experience and expertise in Automotive and Electric Vehicle industry
  • Strong exposure in Product R&D and/or engineering experience in power unit, chassis.
  • Strong knowledge in Vehicle design (motorcycle dynamic, aerodynamics, ergonomic)
  • Hard skills: thorough knowledge of automotive components and their functions; CAD Design; original/aftermarket vehicle components; operating a 3D printer and scanner; reverse engineering software; ability to perform CAD conversion between different formats; knowledge of solid and surface modelling techniques; understand engineer design process; basic computer skills
  • Soft skills: Effective problem-solving skills, commercial awareness, and good attention to detail
  • Entrepreneurial mindset; comfortable with uncertainty, problem-solver, good at identifying opportunities.
  • Resourceful and quick to learn things; can figure out solutions without relying too much on other people, on the other hand quick to identify the area in which she/he's lacking and ask for help
