Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Philippines is recruiting on behalf of an integrated agri-industrial group in the Philippines operating in sectors like swine production, aquaculture, and green energy. They focus on sustainable, high-efficiency, and climate-controlled farms.
Our client is seeking an accounting and compliance officer to independently own the full in-house accounting and statutory compliance function across all group entities. The person works largely autonomously as this role works alongside them but owns day-to-day books and routine compliance.

The position is currently on a work‑from‑home setup, with occasional onsite visits and business‑related tasks as needed. However, the successful candidate is expected to transition to a full onsite arrangement by next year.

Key responsibilities:

  • BIR / tax: monthly withholding (compensation 1601-C, expanded withholding tax), quarterly VAT (2550Q) or percentage tax (2551Q), quarterly and annual income tax (1701Q/1702Q, 1701/1702), annual summary returns and alphalists (1604-C, 1604-E), annual registration (0605), maintenance and registration of books of accounts, issuance of official receipts/invoices - all filed and paid via eBIRForms / eFPS, including nil filings for near-dormant entities.
  • SEC: annual General Information Sheet (GIS), Audited Financial Statements (AFS) filing, beneficial ownership reporting.
  • LGU: annual business/mayor's permit renewal, barangay clearance.
  • Employee government compliance: registration and monthly remittances for SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG (incl. loans), employee BIR registration and Form 2316, DOLE compliance (e.g., Rule 1020).
  • Payroll: salary computation, payslips, 13th-month pay, statutory deductions, final pay.
  • Bookkeeping & reporting: general ledger, AP/AR, bank reconciliations, financial and management reports; commercial/accounting administration of supplier and customer contracts.
  • Multi-entity management, including routine nil filings, annual GIS/AFS and permit renewals for the near-dormant land-holding companies.
  • Agribusiness taxation: apply relevant incentives/exemptions as operations grow.
  • Coordination with the external CPA auditor and external lawyer.

Key requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or related field
  • An international professional certification is a big plus (CIMA, ACCA, CGMA, ACA, CPA, or CMA) - held or currently in progress.
  • At least 8 years' accounting experience, with demonstrated breadth across more than one organization (e.g., 2-3 companies over the career) rather than a single long tenure in one place
  • Multi-entity / scale experience: either has managed 3-4 companies simultaneously within one holding/group, OR has run the accounting for a single larger company (50+ employees)
  • Mandatory industry background: prior experience in agriculture, local manufacturing/production (a business that produces and sells its own products), or the energy sector.
  • High autonomy + fully hands-on: able to independently handle BIR filings, full bookkeeping, payroll, and end-to-end accounting personally
  • Hands-on experience filing via eBIRForms / eFPS and with SSS / PhilHealth / Pag-IBIG remittance portals
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Xero, or similar) and able to set up the books from scratch
  • Reliability, attention to detail, full discretion / confidentiality
