Accounting Supervisor

Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Philippines is recruiting on behalf of a trusted retailer and distributor of sporting goods in the Philippines, providing high-quality sports equipment, apparel, and accessories to consumers, teams, schools, and business partners nationwide. They are seeking Senior Accountant who will be responsible for leading and managing the company's accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records. This role oversees day-to-day accounting activities while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

The position works closely with the President in providing timely financial reports, analysis, and insights to support business decisions.
The Senior Accountant is expected to be hands-on in executing accounting processes, supervising the accounting team, and ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded, monitored, and reported.

This role is based in Malabon City, Metro Manila, with a full onsite work arrangement.

Key responsibilities:

Financial Accounting and Reporting

  • Oversee and participate in daily accounting operations
  • Prepare and review financial statements
  • Perform reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing
  • Prepare management reports


Budgeting, Forecasting, and Financial Monitoring

  • Prepare budgets and forecasts
  • Monitor performance vs budget
  • Provide variance analysis and insights


Inventory and Cost Management

  • Ensure accurate inventory valuation
  • Compute landed costs
  • Reconcile inventory records


Taxation and Regulatory Compliance

  • Prepare and file tax returns
  • Ensure compliance with BIR and regulatory bodies
  • Coordinate audits


Treasury and Cash Flow Management

  • Monitor cash flow
  • Prepare cash reports
  • Manage collections and disbursements


Internal Controls and Audit

  • Ensure adherence to controls
  • Conduct reviews and support audits


Leadership and Team Management

  • Supervise accounting staff
  • Ensure quality and timeliness
  • Provide coaching and feedback


Systems and Process Improvement

  • Ensure ERP accuracy
  • Recommend improvements


Management Support and Reporting

  • Provide reports to President
  • Support decision-making


Key requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or any related field; CPA preferred but not required.
  • At least 5-7 years of accounting experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role, preferably in trading, retail, or distribution.
  • Strong knowledge and technical expertise of IFRS, Philippine tax regulations, and inventory costing
  • Knowledgeable with ERP systems
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, data analysis, reporting)
