Associate Director for Construction

Monroe Consulting Group Philippines, an executive search firm, is recruiting on behalf of one of the leading private hospitals in the Philippines, recognized for its world-class healthcare services, advanced medical technologies, and specialized treatment programs. Our client is seeking an Associate Director of Construction with at least five (5) years of experience in an executive or functional leadership role within Engineering Services or Construction Project Management. The ideal candidate must possess extensive expertise in project management and a comprehensive understanding of the full construction lifecycle-from pre-construction and construction through to post-construction phases. This position will be based in Metro Manila.

Job Summary
The Assistant Vice President for Construction Management leads the planning, implementation, monitoring, and review of facilities and engineering strategies, operational plans, and processes for all development projects. The role ensures efficient project management of construction operations, delivering projects on time and within budget. This position drives continuous operational improvements, reduces turnaround times, streamlines workflows, collaborates effectively with construction vendors and contractors, and provides strategic direction across all projects.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage construction projects for the assigned enterprise.
  • Review and approve engineering designs, contracts, and process enhancements or modifications.
  • Present engineering plans, project progress updates, and critical issues to stakeholders.
  • Consult and negotiate with stakeholders to finalize project specifications and formats.
  • Support the Development VP in defining technical project requirements.
  • Conduct and participate in regular meetings with top management, contractors, and staff to assess hospital conditions and identify cost- and time-efficient solutions.
  • Oversee multiple concurrent construction projects, ensuring objectives are met.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering and safety standards, legal regulations, and other required standards.
  • Approve budgets and expenditures, enforce fiscal policies, and implement order and discipline within the team.
  • Monitor construction budgets with Finance to control costs and analyze out-of-budget expenditures.
  • Ensure adherence to contract provisions, reviewing deviations or inaccuracies.
  • Provide regular reports, feedback, and updates to the President & CEO and the VP of Development on project progress and engineering safety.
  • Offer technical, administrative, and operational guidance to associates within the Construction Management and Development teams, as well as relevant stakeholders.


Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Civil Engineering.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration or a related field is preferred. Certification courses in office management, safety engineering, and government regulations are advantageous.
  • Minimum of five (5) years in an executive or functional leadership role within Engineering Services or Construction Project Management.
