Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Philippines is recruiting on behalf of a growing savings bank who has been thriving in servicing SMEs in the market. This bank is looking for an experienced Chief Information Officer who will lead the bank's technology-related strategies and initiatives. The job is based in Makati City, Philippines.

Job summary:

The CIO will plan for the company's technology needs and addresses any tech-related problems. Analyses information and communicates with the President and other executive board members to make sure everyone stays on the same page. Hels the company move forward with the advances in technology and methods of processing and managing information. Serves as a leader and innovator for the company's information technology department.

A must for the CIO to have a solid IT background and consistently keep up to date with the advancements of the field. Apart from education and experience, the CIO must have every quality of a leader and a strong strategic business acumen.

Key job responsibilities include:

Strategic Technology Development

  • Communicated with other executive member to make sure all parts of the company use technology in the best ways possible
  • Develops strategies to improve the Bank's operational efficacy of technological initiatives


Cost Management

  • Analyze the costs, value, and risks of information technology to advise management and suggest actions
  • Management of t planned or unplanned IT expenses: operating expenses and capital expenditures


Vendor Management

  • Reviews vendor proposals and makes decisions base on things such as price, what they offer, and how the vendor product may fit into the organization
  • Seeks out hardware and software that will help the bank
  • Seeks out vendors that may have something of value to offer to the company
  • Works with things such as computers, mobile devices, telephones, and other voice and data communication methods


Team Development

  • Provide coaching sessions for member of the IT Teams, particularly IT Leaders, so everyone stays on the same page across the company
  • Assist on the formulation of career development for staff


Project Management

  • Oversees the development and testing of new programs developed specifically for the company
  • Ensure project delivery and timeliness of the projects
  • Serve as escalation point for IT projects or developments to assist on clarity of project roadmap and/or strategies


IT Risk Management

  • Oversee the management of technology risks which are derived from the software or hardware technologies that are being used as part of the system being developed
  • Assessment of information risk management ensuring the tech systems and procedures lead to outcomes in line with business goals


Others

  • Oversee the maintenance of all system hardware inventory and maintenance agreements, maintains and monitors records on preventative and corrective equipment maintenance, response and repair times, records utilization, costs and charges
  • serve as escalation point on Disaster Recovery exercises. Oversee governance and procedures as outlines in the Disaster Recovery Plan and provides updates as necessary.
  • Participates in bank-wide committee meetings that pertain to Information Technologies
  • Assists with and/or prepares staff reports and agenda items for Board approval
  • Other work/functions as may be assigned by immediate superior from time to time

Key job requirements include:

  • BS in Engineering and or Computer Science and Information Technology, Master's Degree a plus
  • Between 12-25 years in the field or Information Technology and at least 10 years in IT Management
  • Strong Leadership, Management Skills, Excellent Oral and Written Communication, Teaching ability, Analytical and Presentation Skills
