Monroe Consulting Group, an Executive Recruitment firm, is partnering with a leading organisation in the Agribusiness and Poultry Industry to hire an Operations Manager (Feedmill & Poultry Division) based in Indonesia.

Position Overview

The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end operations of the company's feedmill and poultry business, ensuring optimal productivity, operational efficiency, product quality, and profitability. This role requires a strategic and hands-on leader capable of driving continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining compliance with industry regulations, biosecurity standards, and food safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end poultry operations, including farm, hatchery, feedmill, and processing activities, to achieve operational, quality, and production targets.
Monitor and optimise key performance indicators (KPIs), including Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR), mortality rates, growth performance, and production cycle efficiency.
Ensure full implementation and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), biosecurity protocols, animal welfare practices, and food safety standards.
Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, QA/QC, Veterinary Services, Procurement, and other cross-functional departments to ensure smooth operational execution.
Manage operational budgets, monitor expenditures, control costs, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S methodologies, and operational automation enhancements.
Lead, coach, and develop operational teams to foster a culture of performance, safety, accountability, and teamwork.
Ensure compliance with all relevant government regulations, environmental requirements, and livestock industry standards.

Key Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 8-10 years of experience within poultry operations, including at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership position.
Strong experience managing poultry production operations, including broiler, layer, hatchery, feedmill, or processing environments.

Technical & Functional Expertise

Strong knowledge of poultry production processes, operational performance management, and industry best practices.
Familiarity with production KPIs, biosecurity management systems, livestock health programs, and operational excellence frameworks.
Solid understanding of cost management, budgeting, and operational efficiency improvement initiatives.

Leadership Competencies

Proven leadership and people management capabilities with experience leading large operational teams.
Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Effective communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across multiple functions.
English proficiency is an advantage.
Willingness to travel regularly to farms, feedmills, and operational sites as required.
