Monroe Consulting Group is assisting a leading data center provider in their search for an Electrical Engineer - Data Center. This role will be responsible for supporting the electrical engineering aspects of data center construction projects, from design review and construction through testing, commissioning, and project handover. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure electrical systems are delivered in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the execution of electrical engineering activities for greenfield and brownfield data center construction and expansion projects.
- Review electrical designs, drawings, technical specifications, and engineering documents to ensure compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal project teams throughout the construction and installation process.
- Monitor on-site electrical works to ensure installation quality, adherence to approved designs, safety standards, and project schedules.
- Support the design and implementation of critical electrical infrastructure, including power distribution systems, transformers, switchgear, UPS, generators, and other related systems.
- Identify technical issues, construction risks, and potential design conflicts, and provide recommendations or coordinate appropriate corrective actions.
- Participate in project planning, progress monitoring, site inspections, and coordination meetings with relevant stakeholders.
- Review contractor deliverables, method statements, technical submissions, and other engineering documentation.
- Support testing and commissioning activities to ensure electrical systems are operating according to design specifications and performance requirements.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, civil, structural, and commissioning teams, to ensure smooth project execution and system integration.
- Support project handover activities, including documentation review, punch list resolution, and coordination with operations teams.
- Ensure all electrical engineering activities comply with applicable regulations, industry standards, quality requirements, and workplace safety procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical engineering within construction, engineering, or mission-critical infrastructure projects.
- Experience working on data center construction projects, particularly greenfield and/or brownfield developments, is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of critical electrical infrastructure, including MV/LV systems, transformers, switchgear, generators, UPS, and power distribution systems.
- Experience in construction supervision, design review, project coordination, and/or testing and commissioning.
- Familiarity with electrical engineering standards and data center infrastructure requirements.
- Able to coordinate effectively with consultants, contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical and construction-related issues.
- Willing to be based at project site in Karawang and Purwakarta, West Java.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
- Professional Engineer certification or relevant electrical engineering certifications would be an advantage.
