Primary Function:
Reports directly to Vice President & General Manager and President for planning, organizing and administration of the Accounting Department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages the overall functions of the Finance & Accounting Department in attaining its role in the company;
- Participate in the development of policies and procedures to achieve specific goals.
- Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure to effectively accomplish the department's goal and objectives.
- Oversees the Finance & Accounting staff performances and sees to it that the desired level of output and deadlines are achieved; ensures employees operate within guidelines
- Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance.
- Coordinate financial audit and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.
- Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget.
- Manages the financial activities of the company, such as fund placements, monitoring of principal's remittances, disbursement of funds, scheduling of payment of the company's obligations to various suppliers, and the like;
- Manage the preparation of the Financial Reports of the company;
- Checks and verifies the payroll.
- Reviews and approves government monthly requirements and reports of barangay and city ordinances, taxes, permits, and licenses;
- Ensure compliance with the various governments' monthly, quarterly, and annual requirements and reports of barangay and city ordinance, taxes, permits and licenses (e.g BIR, SSS, City Government, POEA, DOLE, Domestic Trade, SEC, etc.);
- Inter-relationship, coordination, and consultation with the concerned Head and personnel of other departments on all matters having some direct or indirect relations with the functions of the Accounting Department;
- Represents the company externally to government agencies, auditors, and the public.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
- Familiar in using accounting software: QuickBooks
- Other duties assigned by President and Vice-President
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or any related field (master's degree is an advantage)
EXPERIENCE:
- Preferably with 10+ years of experience in Finance & Accounting with 5 years in Managerial position
- Preferably a CPA
- Experience in Freight Forwarding Industry is a plus
