GIS Superintendent (Mining)


Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia is hiring a GIS Superintendent for a nickel mining company based in Morowali. This role is responsible for managing GIS and survey activities, including mapping, data monitoring, and reporting to support mining operations. It ensures accurate spatial data, survey execution, and reporting align with operational targets, regulatory requirements, and company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily GIS and survey activities (field and office)
  • Manage mapping, topography surveys, and spatial data updates for mining operations
  • Monitor pit progress, exploration drilling points, and IUP boundary activities
  • Ensure accuracy of survey data, reporting (daily, weekly, monthly), and reconciliation with contractors
  • Conduct drone mapping and utilize GIS software for analysis (e.g., Surpac, QGIS)
  • Prepare maps and spatial data for cross-department needs
  • Lead and supervise GIS team performance and ensure compliance with SOP
  • Ensure adherence to safety (K3) and environmental standards in all activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred) or Diploma in Geodesy, Geomatics, Mining, or related field
  • Must have experience in mining operations (mandatory)
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in GIS/survey within mining, including at least 3 years in a superintendent role
  • Strong experience in mapping, survey, and spatial data management
  • Proficient in GIS and mining software (Surpac, QGIS, ArcGIS)
  • Experience with drone mapping and field survey operations
  • Strong leadership, coordination, and decision-making skills
  • POP/POM certification and mining surveyor certification are an advantage
