Head of Design (Banking)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the overall design function including Product Design, UX/UI, User Research, and Design Systems.
  • Define and execute the company-wide design vision aligned with business and product strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Data, and Business teams to create seamless customer experiences.
  • Drive user-centered design processes through research, testing, journey mapping, and usability improvements.
  • Establish and maintain scalable design systems, guidelines, and standards across products.
  • Mentor and grow a team of designers while fostering a strong design culture and collaboration environment.
  • Translate complex financial or technical concepts into simple and intuitive user experiences.
  • Ensure consistency across mobile apps, web platforms, and internal tools.
  • Use customer insights, analytics, and experimentation data to improve engagement and conversion metrics.
  • Champion accessibility, usability, and design excellence across all digital touchpoints.
  • Participate in strategic product discussions and contribute to long-term innovation initiatives


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 8-12 years of experience in Product Design, UX/UI, or Digital Experience roles.
  • Proven experience leading design teams in fintech, digital banking, e-commerce, super app, or technology companies.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end product design and customer journey improvements.
  • Experience building and scaling design systems across multiple products.
  • Strong understanding of mobile-first and responsive design principles.
  • Familiarity with user research methodologies, usability testing, and data-driven design decisions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience working in agile product development environments.
  • Proficiency with modern design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms.
