Head of Finance (Retail)


Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia is recruiting on behalf of a leading multinational company in the retail and consumer lifestyle sector. As the business continues to strengthen its presence in Indonesia, our client is seeking a seasoned finance leader for the role of Head of Finance. The position is based in Indonesia and will report directly to the Senior Director Finance SEA.

Key job responsibilities include:

  • Lead overall financial management including accounting, budgeting, business planning, and financial reporting.
  • Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with global reporting standards.
  • Analyze financial statements and identify key improvement areas including cost efficiency, synergies, and working capital optimization (AR and inventory).
  • Lead annual budgeting and forecasting process in alignment with regional policies and timelines.
  • Provide actionable financial insights and decision-making tools for senior management, including performance evaluation against budget and forecast.
  • Support strategic initiatives by conducting detailed business analysis and identifying financial risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure strong internal controls and compliance standards are implemented according to global internal audit requirements.
  • Partner with regional legal teams and external authorities to ensure full compliance with local laws, taxation, and commercial frameworks.
  • Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring strong structure, capability building, and performance excellence.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Professional certification such as CPA / Chartered Accountant is preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Finance/Accounting, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Background from Big 4 is highly preferred (minimum 3 years).
  • Strong exposure to industries such as Retail, Sports, Fashion, or FMCG is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of international accounting standards, local taxation, and finance operations in Indonesia.
  • Proficiency in SAP / Hyperion and excellent MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical thinking, business orientation, and leadership capability with excellent stakeholder management skills.
