Head of HR (AVP)

Executive search firm Monroe Consulting Group Philippines is recruiting on behalf of one of the biggest and renowned tertiary hospital in the Philippines. Our client is looking for a Head of HR (AVP level) who will sit in the Senior Management Committee, handle a team of 13, and will report directly to the CEO and work closely with the Executive Team and Department Managers. The role will be based onsite from Mondays to Fridays.

Key job responsibilities include:

  • Provides leadership and planning in talent management, change management, organizational design and structure, retention, engagement and organizational and performance management.
  • Partners with senior executive leaders to both understand business strategy as well as develop, define, and align HR priorities to support the achievement of business goals.
  • Works closely with the executive leadership team to drive the cultural, organizational, and people initiatives that will drive improved business performance.
  • Leads the HR Business Partners to manage HR programs and processes flawlessly to drive increased business results.
  • Partners with other HR Centers of Excellence to evaluate the human resources structure and plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of HR strategies, initiatives, and processes.
  • Implements HR metrics that measure process value, efficiency, and effectiveness
  • Leverages best practices, benchmarking, and meaningful emerging trends, both internally and externally, to improve overall quality of service delivery and customer service excellence.
  • Continuously improves employment branding and engagement survey instruments.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of relevant regulatory issues, professional and industry practices, as well as government labor laws and regulations.
  • Counsels leadership about the impact of long-range initiatives and regulatory actions including their effect on the human capital resources of the hospital
  • Maintains knowledge of current trends, legal requirements in areas of responsibility
  • Develops, monitors and analyzes annual budget vis-à-vis annual performance and productivity and implements necessary improvement plans
  • Participates in internal work groups, committees as appropriate
  • Performs other responsibilities as requested by the President and CEO

Key job qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline required; Masters degree preferred.
  • Six years of related professional-level experience; healthcare environment preferred.
  • At least three years of management experience.
  • Advanced working knowledge of organizational development, strategy planning and operations.
  • Working knowledge of HR functional areas such as talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, human resource information systems (HRIS), employee training and development, change management, talent management, performance management, and employee and labor relations.
  • An inclusive leadership style that is strong in teamwork; accomplished in the successful development of high performance, customer-centric teams; a history of leading teams that deliver customer service excellence.
  • Ability to thrive in a diverse and complex organizational culture; cultural transformation experience preferred.
