Monroe Consulting Group is representing a key institutional client in the financial services sector responsible for maintaining financial stability and policyholder protection. On behalf of our client, we are seeking experienced professionals to join them as Head of Insurance Audit Division in functional technical positions ranging from Specialist to Advisor levels.
Job Purpose
The successful candidate will be responsible for executing due diligence, detailed examinations, and audits of insurance companies to support insurance resolution frameworks. The role will provide technical leadership, coaching, and direction to team members while managing key regulatory stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit & Due Diligence Planning:
- Formulate strategies, select examination objects, and establish timelines for due diligence and insurance audits.
- Develop and propose comprehensive Audit Working Plans (AWP).
- Coordinate with internal units, external audit firms (KAP), and regulatory authorities (OJK) regarding examination plans and third-party service procurements.
- Execution of Insurance Examinations:
- Conduct thorough examinations on insurance companies, covering financial performance, health condition, asset-liability mapping, and data integrity.
- Evaluate policy guarantee preparations, including portfolio transfers, estimated guarantee claim payouts, and policyholder rights restorations.
- Analyze policyholder/insured data, verification files, and official regulatory reporting.
- Prepare detailed audit examination reports and updates for executive leadership and the Board.
- Insurance Resolution Recommendations & Data Strategy:
- Validate and process complex insurance data to perform resolution analysis.
- Formulate, propose, and present insurance resolution recommendations for decision-making.
- Manage, review, and continuously improve insurance examination database systems and SOPs.
- Stakeholder Management & Governance:
- Serve as the primary liaison with external regulators (OJK), external auditors, and target insurance entities.
- Apply sound risk management, strong internal controls, and Good Governance (GCG) principles across all examination tasks.
Requirements
- Education & Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, Insurance, Law, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Proven experience in insurance examination, financial auditing, regulatory compliance, or risk assessment within the financial services sector (preferably in insurance or regulatory bodies like OJK/KAP).
- Direct experience in due diligence, asset-liability mapping, or handling insurance portfolio transfers/claims is highly advantageous.
- Technical Competencies:
- Deep understanding of insurance business operations, financial analysis, asset-liability management, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrated track record in producing high-quality Audit Working Plans (AWP) and formal examination reports.
- Strong knowledge of data validation, risk mitigation, and corporate governance.
- Leadership & Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for managing high-level external stakeholders (e.g., OJK, public accounting firms).
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving capability.
- Ability to guide, mentor, and coach junior team members (for senior functional levels).
