Land Specialist (Renewable Energy)

Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia is recruiting on behalf of a Multinational Renewable Energy Company for the role of Land Specialist to be based in Jakarta, Indonesia

Job Description :

• Conduct land scouting and mapping activities to identify potential project sites based on technical and commercial criteria, including land area, accessibility, topography, and infrastructure connectivity.
• Evaluate land suitability by reviewing spatial planning requirements, land status, overlapping claims, protected areas, and certification feasibility.
• Support site evaluation processes by providing field insights and land-related assessments.

• Conduct verification of land ownership documents, including various land title and supporting ownership documents.
• Coordinate land checks with relevant authorities and stakeholders to validate ownership status and legal standing.
• Identify potential risks related to ownership disputes, boundaries, encumbrances, social issues, and other land-related challenges.

• Identify and map landowners, land parcels, and ownership structures within targeted project areas.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with landowners and local stakeholders.
• Facilitate site access arrangements for surveys, assessments, and project development activities.

• Lead negotiations with landowners regarding pricing, commercial terms, and acquisition structures while maintaining transparency and cost efficiency.
• Secure land control through appropriate agreements, including memorandums of understanding, purchase commitments, lease agreements, options, or other contractual arrangements.
• Support the land acquisition process through to final ownership transfer or project-ready land status.

• Coordinate with legal representatives, notaries, and relevant professionals to complete land documentation and certification processes.
• Ensure all land records and documentation are properly maintained and organized.
• Support land-related licensing and permitting processes, including coordination with government authorities and relevant agencies.

• Build relationships with local government representatives, community leaders, and other stakeholders to support project development.
• Identify and manage potential social risks related to land acquisition and community acceptance.
• Provide field support for environmental and social assessments.

• Collaborate with project teams, engineering teams, and business development teams on land-related assessments and project planning.
• Participate in site visits, feasibility studies, and project evaluation activities.
• Prepare regular progress updates, acquisition status reports, cost tracking, and risk assessments for management review.

• Conduct field surveys and site verification activities across multiple project locations.
• Provide accurate ground-level information regarding land conditions, ownership, and stakeholder dynamics.

Job Requirements :

• Minimum 5 years of experience in land acquisition, land management, or land development activities, preferably within renewable energy, infrastructure, mining, plantations, telecommunications, or other land-intensive industries.
• Proven experience managing end-to-end land acquisition processes for large-scale projects.
• Strong understanding of Indonesian land regulations, including land ownership rights, certification processes, spatial planning requirements, and government land regulations.
• Experience handling land permitting processes and coordination with relevant authorities.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Established network with relevant government institutions, land professionals, notaries, and local stakeholders.
• Ability to independently manage field activities, make practical decisions, and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
• Strong integrity, transparency, and accountability in managing acquisition processes and costs.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work directly at project sites across Indonesia.
• Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken.
