Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia is recruiting on behalf of a leading coal mining company for a Legal Section Headposition based in Jakarta.
We are looking for an experienced legal professional with a strong background in coal mining business owners/operators who can provide strategic legal support across commercial, operational, and corporate matters.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage all legal matters related to the company's coal mining operations.
Review, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements and contracts.
Provide legal advice on commercial, financial, operational, and corporate matters.
Ensure compliance with mining regulations and applicable laws.
Manage legal risks, disputes, and regulatory matters.
Partner with internal stakeholders and government authorities to support business objectives.
Conduct regular site visits to provide legal support to mining operations.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Law.
Minimum 3 years of legal experience, including experience in a managerial or Section Head role.
Mandatory experience in a coal mining owner/operator company (candidates from mining contractors or mining service companies will not be considered).
Strong understanding of the commercial, financial, and operational processes within the coal mining industry.
Excellent contract drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Fluent in spoken and written English.
Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills with a firm and commercially minded approach.
Willing to travel frequently to mining sites.
