Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Network Optimization
- Develop and execute a comprehensive long-term logistics strategy aligned with overarching business growth objectives.
- Optimize the distribution network, evaluating warehouse locations, transport lanes, and fulfillment models to minimize costs and lead times.
- Lead, mentor, and build accountability within a multi-functional logistics team across transport, fleet, and customer service.
- Establish and monitor enterprise-level KPIs (e.g., On-Time In-Full [OTIF], Cost per Mile, Fleet Utilization, Customer Satisfaction Score [CSAT]).
Inbound & Outbound Logistics Management
- Oversee all inbound freight movements (domestic and international), ensuring seamless coordination with customs brokers, suppliers, and manufacturing plants.
- Direct outbound distribution strategies to ensure efficient product flow from fulfillment centers to end consumers, retailers, or distributors.
- Manage relationships, service level agreements (SLAs), and contract negotiations with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, freight forwarders, and carriers.
Fleet & Delivery Management
- Direct the management, maintenance, and compliance of the company's private or dedicated delivery fleet.
- Implement advanced routing and scheduling strategies to optimize fuel efficiency, asset utilization, and driver productivity.
- Ensure absolute compliance with transport regulations, safety standards, and environmental mandates.
- Evaluate and manage final-mile delivery performance to guarantee prompt and accurate service.
Logistics Customer Service Excellence
- Champion a customer-centric logistics culture, overseeing the team responsible for order tracking, delivery inquiries, and issue resolution.
- Streamline the returns management (reverse logistics) process to minimize costs and maximize asset recovery.
- Serve as the executive escalation point for major delivery disruptions, implementing proactive communication protocols for clients.
Financial Accountability & Technology Integration
- Own and manage the annual logistics operational and capital expenditure (CapEx/OpEx) budgets.
- Identify and implement automation and technology upgrades, including Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Fleet Telematics, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
Role Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in logistics and supply chain management, with at least 3-5 years in a senior leadership or directorial capacity.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or professional certifications (e.g., APICS, CSCP, CLTD) are highly advantageous.
- Technical Skills: Deep familiarity with TMS, WMS, ERP systems (like SAP or Oracle), and route optimization/telematics software. Strong data analytics capabilities.
- Core Competencies: Expert-level contract negotiation, P&L management, strategic problem-solving under pressure, and cross-functional leadership.
