Operations Manager

International award-winning executive recruitment expert Monroe Consulting Group is recruiting on behalf of an international group in the field of cosmetic retail.

Our client is looking for an Operations Manager with experience in leading the brands successfully, building out individual strategies and roadmap for expansion, oversee builds of our retail stores to ensure best quality executions, working with brands on retail operations best practices, while ensuring keeping true to the identity and culture of each of our individual brands.

This job is based in Ho Chi Minh City, District 1

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring Effective Retail Operations:
    • Protects integrity of ROS Data and ensures that the system is fully functioning and that it delivers added value to the users
    • Monitor on-going store performance of our Brands among competitions and industry benchmarks
    • Designs and implements sales operations' processes and procedures and ensures that all staff follow accordingly.
    • Ensures that stores follow brand guidelines on staff grooming, visual merchandising and store operations.
    • Ensures discipline in the field force with regards to their roles and responsibilities
    • Reviews proper staffing, roster of counters, and profile to maintain the agreed level of productivity while sustaining the team stability and morale.
    • Aims to streamline controllable costs that impacts Brand/Store P&L
    • Oversees correct Inventory Management and forecasting to ensure a healthy level of stock and collaterals at the stores
  • Improving the Sales Capabilities:
    • Reviews sales statistics with Brands through the use of available reports (e.g. ROS, BI, etc) for developing action plans
    • Assists in developing skills of Sales Force especially key leaders such as Field Sales
    • Executives, Counter Managers, and Senior BAs.
    • Identifies gaps in staff's skills and performance to work with brands on solutions to address the problems.
    • Provides guidance and advice in planning all sales, promotional activities, and sales incentives to meet Brand objectives and sales target
    • Monitors competitors' activities in-store and through market research to assist brands in their activities
    • Work with Trainers to ensure sales objectives and exceptional customer service are integrated in training plan and well executed
  • Distribution Opportunities
    • Develop the Affiliate knowledge and commercial strategy for alternative brick and mortar distribution channels (shopping malls, freestanding stores, partnerships with retailers, outlets, other new channels, etc.)
    • Responsible for location sourcing, lease negotiation and launch planning for our new retail stores
    • Ensure our Brands secure / retain the best spaces and locations in the most cost and time- effective manner
    • Reviews Channel performances and explore other opportunities for growth
    • Keeps close relationship with retail partners for smooth business operations.
    • Keep abreast of the market trends - initiate retail geographic studies, monitor market evolution trends, city mapping, competitor research and feasibility study on new opportunities
  • Store Build:
    • Assists in the Store Opening Activities in the areas of store design and implementation network and review.
    • Cultivate and maintain excellent relationships with developers, landlords, real estate professionals, store design teams and shop fitters
    • Support our Brands in securing on-time internal approval for new projects including financial feasibility study, capital requirement
    • Assist the Brands in working with store design teams, follow-up on changes including design presentation to landlords and shop fitter management

Job Requirements:

  • Education
    • University Degree, preferably in Retail Marketing
  • Work Experience
    • Experienced in managing a retail operation, preferably in the retail industry
    • Excellent leadership skills in managing staff
    • Experienced in Store building/ setting up.
    • Business Finance understanding is also preferred
    • Strong background in retail and/or brand management preferably in the cosmetics industry,
    • Retail selling experience with solid understanding of retail operations management,
    • Build/retail store construction management, real estate, and expansion plans.
  • Required Background Characteristics
    • Business-minded, excellent organizational skills with ability to analyze sales data
    • Solid performer in Retail Operations,
    • Very adept in using retail systems and able to formulate policies and procedures.
    • Ability to adapt and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
    • Self-starter with experience managing technically and operationally complex projects
    • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, both internal and external stakeholders. Must possess strong leadership and negotiation qualities
