Process Owner (Workday)- Time & Absence

Executive recruitment firm Monroe Consulting Group's Technology Division is partnering with an engineering company who has expertise in Workday- Absence Management & Time Tracking , with the ability to also oversee or contribute to one additional module.

Our distinguished client is currently seeking a highly skilled Workday Process Owner. This role combines strategic system ownership with hands-on delivery, focusing on simplifying complex processes, improving data quality, enabling self‑service insights, and ensuring consistent global standards while supporting local requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
Product Ownership & System Optimisation

  • Own and continuously improve global configurations for time and absence processes, ensuring scalability, compliance, and positive user experience.
  • Lead consolidation and standardisation of previously localised plans, rules, thresholds, and approvals into a harmonised global design.
  • Improve time entry accuracy, exception handling, approval flows, and downstream data quality.
  • Act as functional owner for the employee feedback and survey solution, supporting engagement, lifecycle, and pulse survey initiatives.


People Reporting & Analytics Enablement

  • Define and deliver an end‑to‑end people reporting and analytics strategy within the HCM platform.
  • Review and rationalise the existing reporting landscape, removing duplication and improving consistency.
  • Develop and maintain a governed, documented reporting catalogue aligned to global HR priorities.
  • Enable HR stakeholders to independently access and interpret insights using:
    • Standard and advanced reports
    • Calculated metrics
    • Dashboards and visual analytics tools
    • Extended datasets where available
  • Establish clear data definitions, KPI standards, ownership models, and security controls to ensure a single source of truth.
  • Drive adoption of self‑service analytics and reduce ad‑hoc reporting dependency.


Operational Support & Continuous Improvement

  • Serve as an escalation point for complex system issues related to time, absence, reporting, and surveys.
  • Perform detailed root‑cause analysis and implement sustainable system fixes rather than short‑term workarounds.
  • Manage testing activities including user acceptance testing and regression testing for functional changes and platform releases.
  • Review system updates and coordinate impact assessments across regions.


Governance, Compliance & Collaboration

  • Ensure time and absence configurations align with labour regulations, audit expectations, and internal governance standards.
  • Maintain high standards of data accuracy, documentation, and reporting integrity.
  • Partner closely with Payroll, Finance, HR Centres of Excellence, HR Business Partners, and Communications teams to ensure solutions meet operational and strategic needs.
  • Produce and maintain clear, accessible documentation covering system design, reporting logic, data definitions, and survey processes.


Requirements:

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business, Information Systems, Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Extensive hands‑on experience configuring and supporting a leading enterprise HCM platform, particularly in Time Tracking and Absence Management.
  • Strong expertise in people reporting and analytics tools, including advanced report building, calculated fields, dashboards, and data governance practices.
  • Experience supporting or administering employee engagement or feedback tools within an enterprise environment.
  • Demonstrated success delivering global system redesigns or optimisation initiatives in complex, matrixed organisations.
  • Highly analytical with strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into practical business outcomes.
  • Comfortable working across regions and functions in a global operating model.
