Monroe Consulting Group Philippines is recruiting on behalf of a well-established and rapidly growing group of companies with operations in the steel manufacturing and heavy industrial fabrication industry. The company specializes in the production and fabrication of structural and decorative steel products, serving clients with demanding technical, quality, and compliance requirements. With a strong focus on manufacturing excellence, safety, and continuous improvement, our client is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to lead its quality function and ensure consistent product quality across its manufacturing operations.
The Quality Assurance Manager will oversee the company's overall QA/QC programs, standards, testing procedures, and compliance processes. The role will be responsible for ensuring that raw materials, production processes, and finished steel products meet stringent technical, metallurgical, and customer specifications. The Manager will also lead quality engineers and inspectors, drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions, and work closely with management, engineering, and production teams to strengthen quality systems and operational performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, implement, and manage quality assurance programs, testing standards, and control processes aligned with business objectives and steel manufacturing operations.
- Oversee raw material inspections, heat logs, non-destructive testing (NDT), and quality control of finished structural and decorative steel products.
- Administer quality compliance plans and supplier non-conformance protocols, ensuring products meet strict technical and metallurgical specifications.
- Ensure compliance with international steel codes including ASTM, AWS, and JIS, as well as ISO standards, workplace safety regulations, and environmental policies.
- Lead training and development initiatives for QA engineers and inspectors to strengthen technical expertise, safety awareness, and continuous improvement.
- Address product defects, conduct root-cause failure analysis (RCFA), and promote a culture of operational quality and precision.
- Collaborate with management, engineering, and production teams to develop QA strategies suited to the company's manufacturing requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another relevant technical field.
- Minimum 10 years of Quality Assurance / Quality Control experience in steel manufacturing, metal processing, or heavy industrial fabrication.
- Proven experience implementing QA programs, statistical process control (SPC), material testing, and root-cause corrective action plans.
- Strong knowledge of steel industry standards, structural testing codes, and quality compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple QA functions and plant inspections within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
