Regional Project Manager


Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group's Industrial Division is recruiting on behalf of a global leader in manufacturing and processing.

Job summary:
The successful candidate will manage industrial capital projects from feasibility to commissioning and hand-over to operations while overseeing all the project lifecycle steps such as basic and detailed engineering, purchasing, construction, installation and commissioning.

Key job responsibilities include:
· Drive completion of key projects ensuring that processes run smoothly, products are delivered on time and that the team's overall resources are used effectively and within budget.
· Establish project plan, set the scope, and budget of the project
· Mark projects milestones and understand the critical path.
· Calculate dates based on estimates of work and resource allocation.
· Monitor progress and performance against the project plan.
· Evaluate and authorise changes that significantly impact the scope, budget, or timeline of a project.
· Create and execute quality control plan.
· Apply comprehensive technical knowledge and management experience to identify potential risks and establish plan to mitigate those risks while managing cost implications, time constraints, and customer quality standards.
· Ensure that specifications, recommendations and regional requirements and regulations are implemented as defined in the project plan.
· Ensure effective Sustainability Management (Quality, Health, Safety and Environment) in accordance with policies and local laws and regulations.
· Efficiently manage engineering project phases from feasibility study to commissioning (and where appropriate post-audits)
· Accountable for equipment selection and suppliers' management
· Accountable for contractors' selection (design, civil, electrical and mechanical installation) and contract management
· Conduct project meetings and prepare reports to communicate the project status, requirements, structure and decision points within and beyond the project team.
· Manage ongoing relationships with external contractors, vendors and suppliers so that the organization receives satisfactory standards of service

Key job requirements include:​​​​​​​
· University (Degree) in Mechanical Engineering
· Minimum 10 years of project management experience, including in project execution in similar industries or with heavy mechanical processes.
· Solid project management and project planning skills, having managed and successfully completed diverse projects on-time and on-budget
· Expertise in change management
· Strong understanding of business process/system redesign
· Strong understanding of financial concepts
· International professional exposure on previous positions
· Ability or experience to lead contractors on the project execution.
· Ability to find solutions, achieve objectives and drive to completion
· High level of communication skills
· A high degree of self-motivation and ability to work independently
· Knowledgeable in all phases of plant design, process evaluation, equipment application and construction management
· Competency in AutoCad and Microsoft Project
· Excellent command of both oral and written local language and English are required.
· Good command of both oral and written Chinese language is beneficial.
