Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group is recruiting on behalf of one of the largest group of restaurants in the country. Our respected client is seeking a Research & Development Manager with extensive background in baked or dairy products. The job is based in Pasig City.

Key job responsibilities include:

  • Product development management and process innovation related to recipe development, process and cost improvement and product quality consistency of the assigned category to ensure alignment with SBU BPR to meet business objectives.
  • Overseeing the entire research and development process starting from product concept, preparing prototype sample, laboratory testing, and final approval to invest in the developed products in the assigned category.
  • Developing in-house formulations and processes including formulations for major secondary raw materials for use in manufacturing.
  • Leading and initiating the formulation and process adjustments of new and re-engineered products for cost efficiency, productivity, and sustainability.
  • Assessing the requirements for new products based on the market needs in cooperation with Marketing based on consumer research.
  • Evaluating and providing recommendation on potential and cost efficiency of products in development and relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Driving operational execution within the product development, production and commercial functions and meeting key business outcomes across those areas.
  • Leading and representing R&D cross-functional teams in the technical aspects of product development through the investigation, planning, execution, evaluating and reporting on new product / process development improvement and troubleshooting projects.

Job requirements:

  • College graduate, BS Food Technology or other related food science courses.
  • At least 7 years relevant experience as R&D in bakery/dairy product development and commercialization.
  • Experience in Quality Assurance in the food manufacturing industry is an advantage.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and a strong attention to detail are required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel) is required
  • Must possess the ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive documents
