Monroe Consulting Group, an Executive Recruitment Firm, is partnering with an organisation within the Information Technology industry to hire a Senior Data Scientist. This opportunity is based in Malaysia.
Position Overview
The Senior Data Scientist is responsible for analysing complex data sets, developing machine learning models, and delivering actionable insights that support business objectives and decision-making.
This role plays a key part in transforming data into scalable solutions that drive innovation, operational efficiency, and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Data Science, Commercial and Marketing teams) to identify and prioritise business opportunities that can be addressed through data-driven solutions.
- Extract actionable insights from large and complex data sets using a variety of tools and techniques.
- Develop, validate and deploy predictive models and algorithms using statistical and AI/machine learning methods.
- Present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.
- Implement data-driven solutions in various environments, including integration with existing systems and processes.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in data science and bring new ideas and technologies to the team.
- Monitor the performance of deployed models and algorithms and optimise as needed.
Key Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience as a Data Scientist across relevant industries.
Technical / Functional Expertise
- Strong programming skills in Python or a similar language.
- Familiarity with statistical and machine learning techniques.
- Basic experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Qlik.
- Experience developing, validating, and deploying predictive models and algorithms.
- Experience extracting actionable insights from large and complex data sets.
- Knowledge of AI and machine learning methodologies.
- Experience implementing data-driven solutions and integrating them into business processes.
