Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia is recruiting on behalf of a leading national mining company with a core focus on coal mining. As expansion continues, our client is seeking a Senior Specialist Risk Management professional with at least 10 years' experience with a coal mining company for the job of Senior Specialist Risk Management. The job is based in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Key job responsibilities include:
- Directly reports to the Group Head Enterprise Risk Management
- Designing and implementing an overall risk management process for the organization
- Performing a risk assessment: Analyzing current risks and identifying potential risks that are affecting the company
- Performing a risk evaluation: Evaluating the company's previous handling of risks, and comparing potential risks with criteria set out by the company such as costs and legal requirements
- Establishing the level of risk the company are willing to take
- Preparing risk management and insurance budgets
- Explaining the external risk posed by corporate governance to stakeholders
- Creating business continuity plans to limit risks
- Implementing health and safety measures, and purchasing insurance
- Conducting policy and compliance audits, which will include liaising with internal and external auditors
- Maintaining records of insurance policies and claims
- Reviewing any new major contracts or internal business proposals
- Building risk awareness amongst staff by providing support and training within the company
Job Requirements:
- Reviewing any new major contracts or internal business proposals
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 10 years combined experience in Risk Management and coal mining
- Have strong experienced with a coal mining business
- Skill on overall general management with a focus on mining operation
- Possess leadership to head the team
- Analytical skills and an eye for detail
- Commercial awareness
- Numerical skills
- Planning and organisational skills
- Ability to understand broader business issues
- Communication and presentation skills
- Strong ability to coordinate and communicate with his team and also across to other departments/ companies (matrix organization)
- Capability to work independently (analyse, plan, action, control) with initiative and creativity to ensure operational excellence
- English language, international business experience highly desirable
- Experienced professional with an entrepreneurial character and a "hands-on approach."
- Team player, positive attitude, hands-on and high flexibility
- Willing to travel frequently to all mining site
