(Senior) Systems Administrator

Our client currently provides administrative and IT services to business in the United States and Japan and continuously expanding their services and clientele to become a global scale IT solutions provider. Our respected client is looking for a committed and enthusiastic (Senior) Systems Administrator. The job is based in Makati City, Metro Manila, Philippines but currently offers WFH setup until further notice.


Job Summary


The (Senior) Systems Administrator is responsible for managing the company's server and network infrastructures. Tasks include supervising Junior System Administrators, monitoring system performance and configuring new software and hardware. The role requires excellent troubleshooting skills and hands-on experience with various operating systems. Overall, a Senior System Administrator ensures that all company software, hardware, servers, and networks run smoothly.

Key job responsibilities include:

  • Provide support for internal and external clients.
  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
  • Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
  • Manage teams an participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
  • Participate in on-call rotation, ensuring uptime of critical servers, networks, and applications.
  • Install, configure, document, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
  • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
  • Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes.
  • Must document every activity


Key job requirements include:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines
  • At least five (5) years of Linux (CentOS / RHEL / Windows) System Administrator experience in a web hosting environment.
  • At least three or more (3+) years of previous web hosting experience, domain, and email management and other hosting related tasks.
  • Experience working on server virtualization and containerization on both private and public cloud.
  • Experience of developing and implementing proactive monitoring and alerting for critical infrastructure and services and of creating and developing scripted solutions.
  • Diverse knowledge and proficiency in:
  • Linux (CentOS / RHEL / Windows)
  • Web hosting such as Admin, Reseller, or intermediate users for Plesk cPanel, WHM, FTP, CMS (WordPress and others)
  • Server virtualization and containerization (VMware, Virtual Box, Docker, Kubernetes, KVM) on both private and public cloud (AWS, GCP and others)
  • Creating and developing scripted solutions (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, cfengine, Chef, shell scripts, Perl, Ruby, Python)
  • ITIL, COMPTIA+, AWS, Linux/Virtualization or any related certifications are most preferred
  • Interpersonal and communication skills in both oral and written English, including the ability to prepare reports.
