Structural Engineer (Data Center)


Monroe Consulting is working with a leading data center infrastructure company that is expanding its engineering team to support the development of mission-critical facilities across Indonesia. As part of its continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to contribute to the design and delivery of greenfield and brownfield data center projects. This role will be responsible for structural engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, resilient, and high-performance infrastructure while ensuring compliance with engineering standards, project requirements, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the engineering, design, and delivery of civil and structural works across greenfield and brownfield data center developments.
  • Develop structural designs and perform engineering analysis for reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry, foundations, and other structural systems in compliance with applicable engineering standards and project specifications.
  • Prepare, review, and validate structural calculations, technical reports, construction drawings, specifications, and other engineering documentation.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, engineering consultants, contractors, and suppliers to coordinate structural design activities and ensure timely project execution.
  • Ensure all engineering deliverables meet project objectives, company standards, applicable regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Provide technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle by identifying design challenges, recommending engineering solutions, and supporting design optimization initiatives.
  • Provide engineering support during construction by reviewing shop drawings, material submissions, Requests for Information (RFIs), and resolving site-related technical issues.
  • Participate in design reviews, project coordination meetings, site inspections, testing, commissioning activities, and construction progress discussions.
  • Coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including architectural, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and utility engineers to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
  • Contribute to value engineering, constructability assessments, cost optimization, and engineering risk mitigation while maintaining project quality, safety, and operational reliability.
  • Monitor engineering progress to ensure deliverables are completed within the agreed scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
  • Maintain comprehensive engineering records and project documentation in accordance with internal quality management procedures.
  • Support the development of junior engineers by sharing technical knowledge and providing guidance when required.
  • Engage with clients, consultants, contractors, and relevant authorities to facilitate engineering reviews, approvals, and successful project delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by contributing innovative structural engineering solutions that enhance the resilience, scalability, sustainability, and operational performance of mission-critical facilities.



Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in structural engineering, with exposure to data center, mission-critical, industrial, or other large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in structural analysis and design of reinforced concrete, structural steel, foundations, and related structural systems.
  • Understanding of structural design considerations for data centers, including equipment loading, raised floor systems, equipment foundations, utility structures, and resilient building design principles.
  • Hands-on experience supporting construction activities through the review of shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs, and technical issue resolution.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams, including structural, architectural, geotechnical, and MEP disciplines.
  • Solid understanding of Indonesian building regulations, structural design codes, and relevant statutory requirements.
  • Exposure to mission-critical environments and familiarity with supporting systems such as HVAC, fire protection, fuel distribution, and utility infrastructure will be an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical thinking, engineering judgement, and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to effectively manage technical risks and project timelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard structural engineering software such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, or equivalent analysis and design applications.
  • Self-driven and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced project environment while consistently delivering high-quality engineering outcomes.
