Executive recruitment specialists Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia is recruiting on behalf of one of the leading multinational consumer goods companies in Indonesia, focusing on the Lubricant and Gasoline Industry. Our respected client is seeking a sales professional for the job of Area Sales Manager Retail. The job is based in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The winning candidate will be reporting directly to the Sales and Marketing Retail Manager. This is an exciting job opening for a sales management professional. The Area Sales Manager Retail will have a broad responsibility for conducting sales activity to achieve the annual target of sales volume using the given budget.

Job responsibilities:

  • Manage and ensure the daily operation of all company’s Retail network meets Group’s standard and plan
  • Develop and compile the procedure/manual of retail network operations, conduct sales analysis and competitor activity monitoring
  • Manage the utilization of Retail and obtain potential dealers to invest in service stations
  • Responsible for executing and monitoring trade marketing programs related to the retail stations
  • Develop, evaluate, and manage dealer’s performance, which includes developing and maintaining strong relationships with dealers and customers and building a proactive and successful Sales & Service team via leadership and hands on implementation
  • Perform necessary actions to acquire new key accounts and to maintain existing key accounts
  • Define and implement strategy to improve forecast accuracy and ensures the monthly processes are in place
  • Communicate and monitor area distributor in the execution of promotion activity
  • Lead and execute channel development according to plan
  • Pro-actively in identifying risks and how to mitigate risks to achieve the market and channel growth
  • Adhere and ensure compliance to sales operating procedures and reports
  • Lead regular performance review
  • Represent company to dealer and key customers on relevant issues and concerns
  • Lead and execute customer development plan to achieve objectives
  • Conduct regular field coaching in order to create awareness, consistent work habits, develop focus on key priorities and reinforced positive individual attributes
  • Consolidate and analyze all required sales metrics report from each area
  • Safeguard the sales automation implementation to achieve all objectives 

Job requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering
  • Relevant experience for at least 3-5 years in the retail industry
  • Knowledge in sales/marketing and customer service issues
  • Knowledge in general management
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Results oriented and self-driven
  • Strong background in Retail Lubricants or FMCG running chain company
  • Strong dealer management skills
  • Preferably having some team leadership experience
  • Experience in business development would be a plus
  • Experience in acquiring and maintaining large customers
  • Experience in recruiting and/or managing dealers
  • Experience managing senior stakeholders (owners/top leaderships) as well as low level stakeholders such as sales team
