Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group’s Industrial Division is recruiting on behalf of a highly reputable multinational organization well known in operating high valued chemical terminals across the globe.

Our client is in need of an Assistant General Manager who will work closely under the Plant Director in developing the company’s direction and strategy for continuous business growth.

Job responsibilities:

  • Ensure all internal controls are effective to mitigate business risks and steps are taken to protect the company interest at all times
  • Ensure full compliance of all legal and authority requirement for the Company
  • Assisting the Plant Director to build a sustainable and effective team with key talent and leadership competencies
  • Assisting the Plant Director in the Talent Development Plan for key positions as part of the succession plan for the Company
  • Assisting the Plant Director to improve the SHEQ culture and awareness of the Company
  • Implement initiatives to implement the SHEQ target and objective of the Company
  • Assisting the Plant Director to provide suitable training to enhance the professional skills, SHEQ awareness and safe behaviour among the team
  • Assisting the Plant Director to budgeted profit through a well-developed business strategy and effective cost management measures
  • Ensure continuous monitoring and tracking of sales revenue and associated costs to achieve the budget targets as set
  • Ensure that all financial policies and processes are adhered and in compliance with local financial regulations as well as the Company’s requirements
  • Ensure that the financial management and statutory accounts are reported timely and accurately
  • Assisting the Plant Director in the implementation of Cost Improvement Plan to improve the synergy and operation efficiency across all the functions in the Company
  • Establish and monitor the performance of the Company against standards and targets in areas such as operational efficiency, cost control, sales revenue, legal compliance and human resource management
  • Inspire operational excellence among all functions to ensure customers’ needs are achieved at a minimal cost level

Job requirements:

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience with company-wide responsibilities in a terminal or equivalent industries/environment
  • Substantial and proven experience in functional areas of Sales & Marketing, Operations and Financial Management
  • Excellent knowledge in the principles of leadership and business management
  • Good knowledge in key functions such as Sales & Marketing, Finance & Accounting, Supply Chain, Operations Management and Human Resource Management
  • Self-motivated and possess a strong drive to be challenged and to achieve with a strong willingness to learn
  • Assertive, proactive, results oriented and has the ability to identify opportunities for positive changes
  • Excellent people management, influencing and negotiation skills
