Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Thailand is recruiting on behalf of a leading international assurance company. Our highly respected client is seeking an IT PMO and Portfolio Management with at least ten years of experience in IT Project Management, Portfolio Management, IT resource allocation, and Core Insurance Platform. The job is based in Bangkok, Thailand. 

IT PMO and Portfolio Management will Leads IT PMO and Portfolio Management of Project/Program Management, Portfolio Management, Demand Management and Portfolio Reporting methodology standards, policies and processes. You will guide the IT PMO teams in support of the execution of the business and technology strategies, managing all aspects of portfolio/project execution to committed plans.

Job Responsibilities

  • The leadership of the Demand Management / Project Portfolio Management team in the development, monitoring and reporting of an IT portfolio tied to strategic objectives and aligned with our annual budgeting process 
  • Leadership for all aspects of Project and Portfolio Management (including project/program/portfolio execution, project methodology and governance, project financial's, project and portfolio reporting and project management direction and quality)
  • As needed, provides leadership of enterprise-wide initiatives to drive functional or domain expertise across the IT organization
  • Implement and ensure adherence to PMO standard methodologies, processes and tools, develop and maintain project documentation, work plans and project deliverables
  • Guide and train others in the use of the methods and tools 
  • Conducts regular reviews and reporting of IT project portfolio financial's to meet commitments
  • Maintains full financial responsibility for controlling departmental costs against annual plan
  • Ensures project requirements are achieved in a high quality and timely fashion within budget
  • Effectively communicates and manages project expectations to project managers, sponsors, team members, executive management, and other stakeholders in a clear and concise fashion
  • Regularly reports to all essential IT, PMO and business stakeholders on all projects within the portfolio; including portfolio health and individual project health reviews
  • Demonstrates leadership, collaboration, critical thinking, and teamwork in addressing decisions and resolving issues
  • Provides and/or facilitates training for all staff for both industry and JCI standard practices
  • Tracks project success through tangible and meaningful metrics and quality audits.

Job Requirements

  • A university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) and major in Computer Science is preferred 
  • A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible demand management or IT project management experience within a multinational corporate environment 
  • Experience working with Senior Business Leaders and Technology Leaders to drive IT initiatives and projects
  • Proven ability to influence without authority
  • Assertive conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with Senior Business Leaders and Technology Leaders to drive IT initiatives and projects
  • Proven quality focus in providing customer driven-products, services and solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment and to lead others, in a directed effort, to complete work activities
  • Proven ability to mentor others in the technical and/or business aspects of information systems projects
  • Strong communication and presentation skills and a proven ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization; including senior leadership team members

  • Preferred - An advanced or graduate degree (MBA or equivalent) or PMP Certification is highly desirable
