Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Philippines is recruiting on behalf of a technology consulting and services company focused on core business applications, banking solutions, digital technologies and data analytics. Our respected client is looking for a Big Data Architect. The job is based in Taguig City, Philippines.  

Job Summary: 

The Big Data Architect is responsible leading the design, development, testing, implementation and/or maintenance of support services for Big Data Solutions of our client. The successful candidate will acts as the main resource for expertise within our client's organization to drive pre-sales and project support activities. The Big Data Architect will be designing and driving the end to end implementation of data and analytical solutions including definition of data engineering processes, platform administration and internal and external integration of components.

Key job responsibilities include:

  • Understand the business and technical objectives of customers, identify the gap, and propose the approach for the data strategy and architecture that can drive the value of data
  • Leads business development activities, may it be provision of effort estimates and writing of a response for a Bid or participation in a Proof of Concept/Solution development
  • Collaborate with partners for drafting solutions and building offers to customers
  • Design and implement Industry relevant enterprise data management solutions such as enterprise data lake, customer data platform (on-premises or on cloud), integration solution etc.
  • Lead and manage complex/large scale Data Management projects (architecture and platform) delivery
  • Develop assets, demos or prototypes that can help in building practice capability and in the business development teams across the region
  • Coach and develop other members of the team on Big Data/Data Management capability and project delivery skills. Build courseware and conduct various technical and/or functional enablement activities
  • Facilitates knowledge sharing session – wherein various project experiences and new learnings may be shared, presented and discussed
  • Defines the approach for optimization, best practices and standards
  • Adheres to the administrative requirements which includes the Time Reporting and Leaves Application

Key job requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Business, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field.
  • At least 11 to less than 15 Years of experience in data management, reporting, advanced analytics and Big Data
  • Has participated in multiple projects with exposure on Big Data solutions wherein the understanding of the end to end perspective has been reinforced – which can be various tools from a specific vendor or multiple tools from different vendors
  • Experience in more advanced/complex use cases such as Big Data and advanced analytics and data streaming or real-time scenario
  • Knowledge and experience with the latest data technologies and frameworks such as Hadoop, Spark, Flink, MapReduce, Pig, Hive, HBase, Oozie, Flume, ZooKeeper, MongoDB, NoSQL and Cassandra.
  • Many companies look out for people with knowledge of cloud computing and who has got the experience working with various cloud environments.
  • Must have knowledge and experience with Agile and scrum methodologies
  • Strong decision making skills in terms of data analysis
  • Ability to define architecture for complex data management scenarios
  • Understanding of advanced analytics is desired
  • Has the capacity to continuously establish a deeper understanding of the best practices for development of work products for data management or reports/visualization
  • With good communication and technical writing skills
