Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Malaysia is recruiting on behalf of a company in the FMCG industry for office product supplies. Our client is currently committed to establishing and expanding their presence throughout the country.

Our highly respected client is now seeking a professional individual with extensive experience in sourcing, buying and negotiating, as well as supplier engagement, to play a big role in the team. The job is based in Selangor, Malaysia.

Job responsibilities:

  • Supplier listing
  • Manage business relationships with suppliers 
  • Conduct market research to identify pricing trends 
  • Evaluate offers from vendors and negotiate better prices 
  • Product listing 
  • Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs
  • Monitor sales the performance of each brand 
  • Plan monthly promotion activities with suppliers 
  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery
  • Update internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts) 
  • Prepare cost analyses 
  • Maintain updated records of invoices and contracts 
  • Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition

Job requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in the FMCG industry
  • Strong negotiation skills for optimal cost saving
  • Strong planning and execution skills
  • Excellent in supplier relationship management, establishing new and strengthening existing rapport with suppliers
  • Able to communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Motivated attitude to grow and lead the business with company management
  • Independent and proactive in being solution oriented
  • Fluent in English, Malay and Mandarin
