Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group is recruiting on behalf of one of Indonesia’s major energy businesses. Our esteemed client is currently looking for a Chief Operating Officer who, as part of the Board of Directors, is responsible for establishing the business strategy and operation of the company.

Job responsibilities:

  • Focus on business development and diversification to other areas of domestic Electric Vehicles in the company’s quest to grow into a world-class organisation
  • Handle the Electric Vehicle market in Indonesia 
  • Set up the company strategy, focusing on selling a product through its own platform, and/or building a cooperative relationship with other marketplaces 
  • Build cooperation with after-sales services provider (platform) to connect the end-user with the after-sales services provider 
  • Focus on B2B ridesharing, fleets, and government vehicles, targeting customers in Java & Bali 
  • Establish showrooms in major cities
  • Set sales targets, aiming to sell around 100,000 units/year 
  • Provide leadership to the commercial and business development team through addressing the commercial, technical, and operational aspects of potential customers
  • Oversee the day-to-day business process and collaborate with the operation team to identify potential clients and provide recommendations for improvements 
  • Manage a cross-functional team to meet business objectives 
  • Develop solutions to, strategies for, and assessments of current industry impact to ensure customer satisfaction and business continuity, in line with the company’s strategy 
  • Manage the cost of services and customer requirements

Job requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, or a commercial discipline from a reputable university
  • Minimum 15 -20 years’ experience in the Electric Vehicle industry is a must 
  • Proven track record of developing and maintaining external relationships at senior levels 
  • Knowledge of the automotive and electric vehicle market in B2B segmentation 
  • Analytical skills and sound financial understanding of the supply chain 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with teams and networks and influence outcomes at many levels in an organisation 
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to identify critical path issues and develop solutions to keep a program on-track 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are mandatory 
  • Influencing and networking skills 
  • Strong strategic purchasing and negotiations skills are required 
  • Track-record of business development 
  • Solid leadership, mentoring and coaching skills 
  • Strong problem-solving ability and effective employee management experience
