Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group is recruiting on behalf of a multinational pharmaceutical company. Our respected client is seeking a Lawyer for the Compliance and Legal Affairs position. The Compliance and Legal Affairs Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of programs and operational policies that will strengthen internal controls and risk management; promote efficiency and protect company assets; and report conditions and bring to fore any irregularity, fraud, and other similar acts detected through application of audit procedures/programs. The position is also responsible for ensuring that the Code of Conduct, Sales and Marketing Promotional Code, industry code (PHAP Code), and other policies and procedures are embedded in the organization. The position is likewise required to support all the legal requirements of the Company. Other functions would include leading the advisory team of the Employee Management Council, handle corporate branding communications, and corporate secretariat. This position will directly report to the HR Head and closely work with the region and internal stakeholders. 

Key job responsibilities include: 


  • Designs an annual plan for audit coverage which fulfills the responsibility of different departments
  • Designs an annual plan for audit coverage which fulfils the responsibility of different departments
  • Reviews and finalizes audit report and assure that matters requiring management action are timely brought to their attention; and recommend disciplinary action on employees, as necessary
  • Recommends improvements on operating, administrative and financial policies, systems, and controls
  • Directs the performance of such other special reviews as may be requested by management
  • Prepares and implements standard operating procedures (SOPs) and internal codes/policies, as required, and ensure that the company is compliant with the PHAP regulations
  • Organizes and manages monthly compliance meetings
  • Embeds compliance in the organization and across all functions

Legal Affairs:

  • Provides assistance in all functions with legal requirements, e.g. preparation/review of legal documents and contracts, advisory on legal concerns, representation with government agencies and principals, as necessary.
  • Manages the contracts database of the company
  • Manages the cases and coordinates with the company’s external counsels
  • Efficiently conducts corporate secretariat and notarial duties

Data Protection Officer:

  • Manages the data privacy officer of the company through ensuring that the organization processes the personal data of its staff, customers, providers, or any other individuals (also referred to as data subjects) in compliance with the applicable data protection rules.

Corporate Branding and Communications:

  • Manages PH Connect and communication materials

Employee Relations Activities/ Employee Management Council:

  • Implements projects/activities for employees; co-chair EMC meetings and lead the advisory team of EMC

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law
  • Licensed Lawyer; Member of the Philippine Bar 
  • Three years’ experience in Compliance and Legal Affairs in a multinational pharmaceutical company
  • Technically competent
  • Awareness in related business disciplines such as finance, economics, and management
  • Skilled in dealing with employees across all functions
