Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Malaysia is recruiting on behalf of a renowned Medical Device company, carrying range of Molecular Diagnostic products. 

As business growth and expansion continues, our respected client is seeking a professional with minimum of 5 years’ experience in delivering a high level of technical support to internal teams, end user customers and distributors in the Asia Pacific as Field Application Specialist. The opportunity is based in Selangor, Malaysia. 

Job responsibilities:

  • Provide an exceptional level of on-site support to countries across the Asia Pacific region in product implementation and troubleshooting during initial 12-18 months, including but not limited to: planning and oversee the integration process, recommend the appropriate lab configuration and good molecular practice, assist customers in meeting their regulatory and validation requirements and troubleshooting of any errors or technical issues
  • Use and develop data analytics tools to drive proactive and predictive monitoring of instruments across the APAC region
  • Investigate error conditions, diagnose probable root causes and provide troubleshooting solutions over the phone, via email or at customer sites
  • Develop training concepts for AMD products, assays, applications and system operation and deliver training to internal and external customers at training centres or on-site
  • Ensures compliance with Abbott quality and regulatory requirements, ensures timelines for complaint registration and investigation as well as complaint closure
  • Coordinates communication with global support organization on emerging field issues and knowledge sharing, openly shares the information and experience with all members of the organization to contribute and build a high level of expertise

Job requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular Biology/Genetics, or biological sciences 
  • Hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques including Realtime PCR, nucleic acid extraction and instrumentation is required
  • Fluency in another Asian language a plus 
  • Min 2 years of experience in technical support in medical diagnostics or life sciences field, OR min 5 years’ experience in lab-based diagnostics pathology laboratory 
  • Experience with laboratory data analytics, or Python/CLI is highly desired
  • Requires travelling up to 90% of the time across the Asia Pacific region during initial period. Following implementation of Realtime centre, travel is expected to be 30%

  • Strong analytical skills to identify and diagnose problems and troubleshooting
  • Effective presentation, training and communication skills for effective team training and during troubleshooting
