Executive Recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Philippines is recruiting for an online payment company that provides merchants with a comprehensive and innovative range of services and solutions that eliminate payment complexities and make purchasing quick, seamless, and secure for consumers. Our respective client is looking for an experienced finance professional for the job of a Financial Controller. The job will be based in Makati City, Metro Manila, Philippines.

The Financial Controller will be responsible for all finance matters in the company, including financial reporting, planning and analyses, accounting and audit / tax regulatory matter and supervising the local accounting team. He/She supports regional and group finance teams.

Key job responsibilities include:

  • Accounting
    • Accountable for maintaining the accounts from G/L to Income Statement and Balance Sheet stage
    • Responsible for accounts payable, receivable, banking and credit control as well as cash collection and credit limit
    • Manage monthly payroll process and prepare payment. Ensure regulatory filling and payment of social tax and WHT.
    • Verify and process invoices, expense claims and reimbursements
    • Assist the Finance Director, SEA in Group financial reporting including profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow and reconciliations and cash flow forecasts.
    • Responsible for monthly intercompany and balance sheet reconciliations
    • Supervise VAT, CIT, WHT and local tax statement as well as statutory audit of Financial 
      Statements and ensure timely filling with the local authorities
    • Responsible for monthly reporting in BFC (or through excel loading file) for group consolidation purpose and YE reconcile with IFRS and relationship / collaboration with external auditors
    • Analyses of financials
  • Controlling
    • In charge of forecasts , budget and 3Y budget computation with Finance Director, SEA support
    • In charge of project cost and profitability follow up as well as contract coordination with the region
    • Monitoring of KPIs  DBSO, DOI (inventories), Gross Profit, EBITDA
  • Others
    • Assist in assessing project and tender profitability
    • Supervise a team of 3 accounting staff
    • Other Ad hoc matters as may be assigned

  • Functional competencies
    • CPA or CA with a minimum 8 years’ relevant experience
    • Prior experience in similar position in a multinational company preferred
    • Strong working knowledge of the accounting with proven experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of accounting policy and procedures in the finance department
    • Cost centre management skills with a focus on budgeting, forecasting and controlling
    • Prior experience in managing a team
    • Professional or degree holder with relevant educational background
  • Management Ability (if applicable) e.g.
    • Prior experience in BFC, TM1 Systems, procedures and standards or similar system (Oracle, Hyperion) preferred
    • Managing performance
  • Education Qualifications / Experience Requirements (List minimum qualifications and experience required for the role)
    • Diploma/University: Degree or Professional qualification in Accounting
    • Years of professional experienced required: 8+
