Position: General Insurance Consultant

Client: Our client is a leading global advisory, broking, and solutions company with over 40,000 employees

serving more than 140 countries.

Reports to: Thailand Market Leader (Singaporean)

Subordinates: standalone

Segment: Investment, Risk & Reinsurance (IRR)

Location: Metropolis Building, Sukhumvit Road (near BTS Promphong)

Overview of the Role: As a General Insurance Consultant, you will work with project teams focused on

service proposals, business development, reserves review, pricing and capital management activities for our

insurance company and self-insured clients. You will be responsible for business development as well as

producing reports and analyzing results. You will work closely with a variety of consultants and project

managers who will help you increase your insurance knowledge of Asia.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Deliver work in accordance to project deadlines • Experienced Associates will often begin to serve as the project manager on some projects which

includes:

• Creating project plans

• Monitoring progress to deadlines and budget

• Client interaction and understanding their needs

• Scheduling and managing regular status meeting calls

• Ensuring appropriate and effective communication among team members and the client

• Deliver on projects to meet or exceed client expectations

• Increase efficiency within client teams by identifying ways to improve processes Excellence

• Work together with Market Leader to deliver proposals and projects that meet or exceed client expectations

• Involvement in R&D to develop and enhance future sales propositions and internal firm knowledge to maintain our leading edge in the market

• Develop a strong understanding of the General insurance industry in Thailand and other Southeast Asian markets

• Manage time effectively between multiple assignments at a time • Deliver high-quality work in compliance with Professional Excellence standards and proactively look

for process improvement. Financial

• Contribute to sales and marketing efforts by assisting in proposals, presentations and pitches

• Build strong relationships internally and with client representatives • Demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levels

Requirements:

• Minimum degree: Mathematics, Statistics, Financial or Actuarial

• At least 3-5 years of general insurance experience in a consulting firm, financial services organization or general insurance firm in Thailand

• Nearly/qualified actuary from CAS/SOA/IFoA/IAA

• Have experience in IFRS 17, actuarial financial reporting or pricing, and able to work independently with minimal supervision in these areas

• Strong business development ability

• Robust understanding of OIC regulations and accounting standards in Thailand

• Significant insurance knowledge of various P&C products. Life knowledge a plus but not expected

• Good understanding of actuarial modelling software; high-level understanding of Emblem and ResQ or other actuarial software

• Strong financial modelling skills, with a keen interest on software sales

• Possess leadership traits and takes initiative to resolve challenging problems independently

• Strong interpersonal and team skills

• Well-developed verbal communication and writing skills in English and Thai

• Confident of actuarial and accounting jargons between English and Thai

• Self-starter attitude and ability to work within ambiguity

• Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues

• Strong analytical and creative skills

• The ability to see the "big picture," leveraging the resources of related practices to address the clients' business challenges

• Availability to travel on an as needed basis
