Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group is recruiting on behalf of a growing multinational automotive manufacturing company in Indonesia. As expansion continues, our client is seeking a Head of Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) professional with at least fifteen years of experience handling workplace emergencies. The job is based in Cikarang, Indonesia.

The Head of Safety, will ensure the successful planning and implementation of health and safety regulations in the Indonesian Plant. They will also conduct regular reviews and be updated with all applicable SHE best practices and legislations, ensuring compliance with Government regulations at all times.

Job responsibilities:

  • Form a safety team, develop procedures, maintain equipment standards, and improve staff knowledge
  • Lead the investigation of every SHE related issue, providing findings and recommendations to top management, and following up as required
  • Conduct SHE assessments/reviews in all Indonesian plant’s
  • Coordinate meetings with SHE team and management, compiling SHE policy statements, meeting SHE targets, and setting SHE guidelines, while discussing corrective and preventive actions to mitigate any risks
  • Create regulations and procedures, and provide training to employees in relation to Occupational Health and Safety (K3) standards
  • Communicate and coordinate with all relevant parties (internally and externally) in Safety, Health and Environment related matters
  • Provide regular reports of K3 (Kesehatan dan Keselamatan Kerja/Health and Safety), including Security (SATPAM)
  • Act as the first point of contact for any concerns regarding health and safety matters

Job requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health, Safety Engineering, Occupational Health or equivalent, with additional professional qualifications in Fire & Safety Management Systems from reputable university
  • Master's Degree  is advantageous
  • Experience as a SHE manager for at least 15 years in related fields (5 years at an automotive or chemical factory is preferable)
  • Certified occupational health professional (Ahli K3 Umum) and experience with Fire Safety Management Systems
  • Good understanding & experience in the implementation of ISO 44001 HSE
  • Management system experience (ISO 31000 Risk Management, and ISO 50001 Energy)
  • Experience in workplace safety and handling of emergency situations 
  • Must possess great communication skills and leadership skills 
  • Must be proficient in the English language
