Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Malaysia’s Technology Division is recruiting on behalf of a technology company with a focus on driving the growth and adoption of artificial intelligence and Internet of Things (IoT) regionally across South East Asia and internationally. The company, headquartered in Singapore, currently have a business footprint across SEA, driving a value-added distribution business for government, private enterprise, as well SMEs projects, through strategic services and consultative solutions, primarily in facial recognition technology, biometrics identity access and smart living integration.  Our client is seeking an experienced, energetic, creative, responsible professional to take a role as Sales Manager to drive the business expansion in Malaysia. This role is to be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The Manager, Sales will be primarily in-charge of driving the sales growth initiative within Malaysia and across South East Asia. Ideally, our client is looking for someone who is equipped with technical knowledge in physical security products like CCTV and biometrics integrations to extensive security networks and software such as VMS and analytics suite. The incumbent would be someone who enjoys working closely within startup environment, full with diverse team members from MNC backgrounds, to support various pre- and post-sales opportunities and critical projects. The candidate should be someone who has balanced technological know-how, business-acumen, and familiarity with the industry, while maintaining a positive mind-set, great personality and great communicator/collaboration internally and externally.

Job responsibilities:

  • Explore and qualify prospects of customers and projects 
  • Drive quality leads, to ensure a high-win and close-rate 
  • Explore a variety of go-to-market models, e.g. indirect sales 
  • Establish pipelines of new business and continuously up-sell opportunities 
  • Conduct discovery calls, presentations, and demos with prospects and customers 
  • Develop and nurture relationships with prospective customers 
  • Demonstrate and sell value to key stakeholders 
  • Manage pipeline health/structure and data accuracy 
  • Close deals and meet targeted quotas
  • Build a resilient System Integration (SI) team based on the business development 
  • Develop and implement long-term business plans and tactical plans 
  • Take part in government or private sector tenders and proposals preparation, and generate the required technical information for a tender
  • Coordinate with the marketing team to plan and execute marketing activities/events to maximise the pipeline growth

Job Requirement:

  • Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the security surveillance/CCTV industry, especially in building automation, access control, video analytics or artificial intelligence (AI) systems 
  • Minimum of 3 years in sales management, channel sales and business development in the aforementioned line of products
  • Equipped with a network of existing prospects and influencing relations with consultants/end customers that would best satisfy their requirements
  • Sound understanding of the local market, especially in biometrics or CCTV
  • Understanding local market regulations and able to adapt and translate them into sales efforts
  • Able to analyse business needs, turn them into technology solutions and position them in competitive scenarios
  • Highly-motivated, resourceful and independent professional who is proactive and customer-centric
  • Regional (SEA) sales experience would be a big plus
  • Capable of driving sales pitches, presentations and product demos on technology products and services
  • Track record in negotiating and securing complex deals is an added advantage
  • Excellent communicator and negotiator, pleasant and positive character, presentable and initiative-driven
  • Able to accommodate occasional business travel domestically
