Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group is recruiting on behalf of a global leader in developing and producing responsible packaging for food, beverage, pharmaceutical, medical, home- and personal-care, and other products. Our respected client works with leading companies around the world to protect their products and the people who rely on them, differentiate brands, and improve value chains through a range of flexible and rigid packaging, specialty cartons, closures, and services. The company is focused on making packaging that is increasingly light-weighted, recyclable, and reusable, and made using a rising amount of recycled content. 

The key focus of the role is supporting the operational improvements projects for the long term and short-term business plan. The successful candidate will be responsible for project execution to drive business growth, including state gate process rigor, milestone/timeline setting, and tracking.

Responsibilities:

  • Work cross-departmentally to identify and facilitate operational improvement projects.
  • Develop multi-year continuous improvement plans with other departments to track progress.
  • Manage the continuous improvement pipeline with the site management teams, including the selection, tracking, and running of operations.
  • Provide continuous feedback and follow up in regard to operational guidelines, product, and system developments.
  • Work with all levels of the organization to influence change, teaching, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Lead and prioritize complex, high-priority improvement projects.
  • Maintain a KPI based reporting structure
  • Analyze data from operational systems
  • Ensure business operational compliance with policies, health and safety standards, food safety standards, and fair employment practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience in operational excellence, preferable from a packaging manufacturer company
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred
  • Experience in operational excellence or continuous improvement
  • Ability to work in a demanding and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work under defined guidelines with precision
  • Strong communication skills including written, verbal and presenting required.
  • “Hands-on” approach and proactive approach to projects
  • Self-motivated and willing to accept temporary responsibilities outside of initial job description.
  • Must be comfortable in a fast-paced company environment with minimal direction and ability to adjust workload based upon changing priorities
