Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Malaysia is recruiting on behalf of our client who is the leader in Malaysia’s retail industry when it comes to premium fashion and lifestyle brands. Our client carries internationally recognized brands and is highly committed to ensuring an excellent shopping experiences for every customer.

The client is currently seeking an individual passionate in retail outlet management to join their dynamic team as the Retail Manager. The job is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 

Job responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all shops and sales management for the assigned brand(s)
  • Customer service oriented and lead a team of sales personnel
  • Oversee the day-to-day running of stores or departments ensuring operation efficiency and profitability of the stores
  • Brand management including maintaining awareness of market trends in the retail industry, understanding forthcoming customer initiatives and monitoring competitors’ activities
  • Manage staffing including interviewing potential staff, conducting appraisals and performance reviews, as well as providing or organizing training and development
  • Lead, mentor, coach and motivate the floor sales team to increase sales, achievement of sales target and ensure efficiency
  • Ensure and maintain a healthy stock levels and making key decisions about stock control
  • Budget management, analyzing sales figures and forecasting future sales by analyzing and interpreting trends to facilitate planning
  • Organize special promotions and events and ensure displays are accurate and merchandised to the company’s standards
  • Ensure standards for customer service, safety and security are met
  • Respond to customer complaints, compliments and comments
  • Chair weekly/monthly shop meetings
  • Liaise with Principal on orders, VM, sales reports and marketing
  • Prepare various monthly reports to both the Principals and Management
  • Participate in monthly brand meeting to update Management on business performance, new initiatives and other pertinent issues
  • Potentially participate in buy for brand(s) assigned

Job requirements: 

  • Preferably with Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma
  • 4-5 years working experience in managing retail outlet
  • Passion for working in the retail industry and providing excellent shopping experience to customers
  • Possess good leadership qualities with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good command of Bahasa Malaysia, English and/or Mandarin
  • Savvy in Microsoft Word and Excel
