Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Philippines is recruiting on behalf of a growing multinational bank in the Philippines. Our respected client is seeking a banking professional for the job of Risk Management Supervisor who is well versed in Credit, Market, and Operational Risk Management. The job is based in Makati City, Philippines.

Job summary:

The Risk Management Supervisor will support the CRO in risk limit monitoring and reporting, ECL impairment, stress testing, annual RCSA & maintaining Operational Loss Database.

Key job responsibilities include:

Credit Risk Management

  • Compute Expected Credit loss (ECL) and communicate its results and variation analysis to the concerned department and Chief Risk Officer (CRO) on a monthly basis. If needed, discuss the effectiveness of the ECL model to the concerned department and CRO to adjust its parameters such as Probability of Default (PD) and Loss Given Default (LGD) etc.
  • Conduct monthly trend and portfolio management analysis via defined reports, as well as using knowledge, experience, and observation to determine if new analysis is needed. Communicate results of portfolio analysis to CRO on a monthly basis.
  • Communicate exceptions, trends, concerns, weaknesses, non-compliance with internal and regulatory credit policies and procedures and terms and conditions of the loans, problem credits, and conclusions of the loan reviews to CRO on a monthly basis.
  • Coordinates with the Internal Audit and Compliance Department in the conduct of semi-annual independent credit review.
  • Regularly review and update the related guideline, policy and manual.

Operational Risk Management:

  • Implement the Bank’s operational risk assessment methodology tools and risk reporting system such as conducting the annual risk and control self-assessment (RCSA), business process mapping, and internal loss data collection and analysis. Review the key risk indicator and KPI regularly.
  • Review and summarize the results of the monthly operational loss report of each unit covering both internal and external audit findings for submission to the CRO. Prepare the Bank’s operational loss database (OLD) for the past five years.
  • Monitor the actions taken by each unit on the operational lapses noted which resulted to losses and reports the same to the CRO.
  • Coordinate operational risk management activities across the organization.
  • Coordinate with compliance function, and internal audit on operational risk matters. Assist to write report on crime/loss (RCL).
  • Regularly review and update the related guideline, policy and manual.

Market Risk Management

  • Check the investment positions and examine the portfolio on a monthly basis but check the investment portfolio timely and report the impact on it to CRO if the market fluctuates sharply. Daily Monitor the Single Borrower’s Limit and report its result to the CRO.
  • Regularly review and update the related guideline, policy and manual.


  • All risk-management-related jobs including both regular and unexpected assignments containing various regular reports instructed by CRO should be done and report their progress to the CRO. Assist to reinforce and set up risk management framework and infrastructure.
  • Attend the meetings of BOD, AUDCOM and ALCO if requested.   

Key job requirements include:

  • Degree holder in Business Administration/management, accounting, statistics, finance/banking or related disciplines;
  • At least 2 years of banking working experience
  • Sound knowledge of risk management: preferably 2-4 years in credit risk, market risk and operational risk management
  • Good skills of MS Office and SQL is considered an advantage
  • Detail-oriented self-starter and a good team player
