Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Malaysia is recruiting on behalf of a multinational company with a presence across the Asia Pacific. Our client is known as the industry leader when it comes to Consumer Goods.

Our highly respected client is currently seeking an experienced professional to join their dynamic team as the Senior Manager, National Customer Account Management, ensuring an excellent after-sales service across trade channels. The job is based in Selangor, Malaysia.

Job responsibilities:

  • Maintain and strengthen customer relationships to ensure sustainability and long-term value-adding 
  • Conduct strategic planning with client accounts to ensure sustainable growth 
  • Carry out annual Joint Business Planning 
  • Challenge the status quo and find solutions to become a better and more efficient business partner (e.g. increase forecasting accuracy, service levels) 
  • Use countrywide data to perform necessary analyses 
  • Seek ways to integrate digital tools into the business partnership 
  • Constantly visit markets to conduct reviews and collect feedback from customers regarding sales achievements and customer service support 
  • Gather execution performance data to report the effectiveness of each month’s cycle plan against key activities and channel execution KPIs
  • Support the field sales execution team by developing relevant tools and guidelines to assist customers in achieving their objectives 
  • Review the post-analysis, establish action steps and facilitate execution plans
  • Understand and identify customer needs promptly, following up with the customers for strategy alignment and proper execution
  • Remain up-to-date on market movement and how business strategies are able to counter competition in the market 
  • Control A&P spending and increase ROIC of A&P
  • Advise the management on current achievements and future forecast regarding Malaysia’s business 
  • Coach and motivate the client management team to build team spirit and develop young talent

Job requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience and proven track record in FMCG account management 
  • Ideally some years in account management and some exposure at the buyer’s side 
  • Strong network with key customers in MY 
  • Possess a strong understanding and knowledge of the FMCG market, customer needs and competitor activities 
  • Experience in developing and implementing profitable strategies 
  • Able to prioritise and complete tasks within timeline and budget 
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Leadership skills, motivating teams and managing people 
  • Independent and proactive
  • Resourceful in problem solving 
  • Strong adaptability to work within a fast-paced environment 
  • Mature decision making process 
  • Self-driven 
  • Willing to travel
