Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group’s Industrial Division is recruiting on behalf of a global leader within the food, agriculture and industrial products. Our esteemed client focuses on trading of agricultural products such as oil, fats and feed. Our respected client is seeking an experienced project manager with an extensive background in FSQR, Food Safety and Continuous Improvement for the position Senior Project Manager (Continuous Improvement and FSQR). The job is based in Westport, Selangor. 

The Senior Project Manager (CI & FSQR) will be responsible of managing overall growth portfolio in mergers and acquisitions, diversification and joining ventures for the company. In addition, the incumbent will lead in delivery, quality and safety design for all projects as well as driving project execution excellence with compliance to FSQR and food production safety. The winning candidate will be identifying potential opportunities and leading project execution across APAC region. 

Job responsibilities:

  • Create a register and portfolio view of APAC CASC FIBI build, MADJV and other relevant FSQR projects and their FSQR requirements/conformance in the PDP process that drive value and efficiencies in our FSR teams and business
  • Develop and implement effective and efficient FSQR DQ (Design Qualification) and IQOQPQ processes and capability as well as FSQR project management capability in the region (aligned to FSQR standards and PDP processes)
  • Develop a process and execute FSQR support of projects systematically to reduce waste, utilizing selected FSQR resources from the FSQR operations and other relevant FSQR teams
  • Develop and execute FSQR Due Diligence with appropriate expertise
  • Grow FSQR expertise for build projects and MADJV
  • Ensure FSQR requirements in the PDP process are observed and proper sign-offs are in place prior to gate reviews
  • Lead the FSQR Project Management function in the subregion to be an effective enabler to achieve Zero Harm and Quality culture
  • Collaborate with Capital projects, MTL, ACI, Operations and Business to build partnership and effective engagement
  • Implement systematic approach developed at APAC level to manage a portfolio of build, MADJV and other relevant FSQR projects
  • Build a culture of bringing the outside-in of technology for FSQR performance improvements (connect to hygienic and safe design CoEs)
  • Identify, coordinate trials and facilitate decision making of technology adoption to enhance FSQR performance
  • Lead organizational change (related to build and MADJV projects) to achieve desired results
  • Provide leadership for continuous improvement programs in the subregion while keeping aligned to the vision and strategy for APAC 
  • Partner with the APAC Project Management Lead to understand top process objectives and develop the plans to achieve those objectives
  • Bring visibility to current state, identify, prioritize, and resource process improvement and standardization opportunities in end-to-end FSQR activities
  • Work with APAC FSQR teams to benchmark process and solutions against external best practice to "bring the outside in"
  • Partner with the APAC Subregion FSQR leads to define and build technology skills and capabilities required to meet continuous improvement targets
  • Collaborate across regions to create and leverage best practices
  • Bring project management expertise and discipline to the subregion initiatives


Job requirements: 

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree – Chemical or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years experience required
  • Experience in delivering projects in spec, on time and in budget
  • CONC for new builds from design perspective (not operation errors)
  • Advanced/Fluent English
  • Experience dealing with FSQR, FSSC 22000, HACCP – Halal certification is an added advantage
  • Available for Business Travel - minimum 25% of the time
