Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Philippines is recruiting on behalf of a rising trading company that specializes in Advanced Telecommunications Technology, Cost Effective Medical Products, Agricultural Innovations and Disaster Management Solutions. Our respected client is seeking for an Information Technology (IT) Professional for the role of Server & Automation (SME). The job will be based in San Juan City, Metro Manila, Philippines, but currently offers WFH set-up until further notice

The Server & Automation (SME) will act as 2nd level and subject matter expert in server domain; Windows and Linux. This role expected to lead day-to-day server provisioning up to support and maintenance of company's back-end infrastructure and assist in NOC & local IT escalations. Utilize performance monitoring tools to identify and analyze impairments that may affect services. Provide automated solutions, scripting, on servers, cloud and other products offerings.

Key Responsibilities/Duties :

  • Lead in training IT helpdesk / IT Service Delivery / IT Solutions Delivery team and end-users within his specialized domain to ensure adherence in company standards. The role will also work with cross-department teams to ensure that project deadlines are met and output quality is within goals. 
  • Designing, organizing, modifying, and supporting a company's server systems (Linux, Windows).
  • Performing resolution and conduct root cause analysis of system performance / failure issues 
  • Performing maintenance, diagnostic tests, modifications or coordinate server hardware changes to partner vendor or supplier
  • Performing server configuration backup / restoration operations
  • Monitoring server performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future 
  • Assist in other responsibilities including interviewing, planning, assigning, and directing work; approving time sheets; peer-review for performance check, coordinate to Technology Head and contribute addressing complaints and resolving issues.
  • Ensure adherence to existing IT Service Management processes including incident, request, change, configuration, capacity, and release management 
  • Learn new product offerings, test, implement, and create training manuals for IT Solutions Delivery, when necessary.
  • Keeps up to date with current trends and is prepared to make recommendations
  • Produces support documentation

Qualifications :

  • Graduate of BS Information Technology or equivalent
  • 3-5 years experience in designing and supporting servers
  • Experience with Linux and Windows
  • Understanding on the following:
    • Cloud solutions
    • Virtualization Software (Hyper-V and VMware)
    • Creating and developing scripted solutions (e.g., Anisble, Puppet, cfengine, Chef, shell scripts, Perl, Ruby, Python)
    • Active Directory
    • DFS
    • Terminal Servers
  • Ability to explain complex information in simple, clear terms to a non-IT person.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Detailed-oriented and organized.
  • Can adapt to changing priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with various departments and foster teamwork.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain standards of conduct as well as highly confidential nature of the work.
