Business Unit Head

Business Unit Head (Manufacturing) Metro Manila Job Description: Executive search firm Monroe Consulting Group Philippines is recruiting on behalf of a prominent local dealer of SEM machinery, which is part of the key brands of Caterpillar. Its product portfolio includes wheel loaders, soil compactors, motor graders, and track-type tractors, and it also provides customized machines and power solutions to its customers. Our esteemed client's office is located in Quezon City. Job Summary: The Business Unit Head is responsible for providing a safe work environment, meeting customer requirements, managing sales and servicing with quality control. Additional responsibilities include creation and delivery of capacity, capital, and financial plans, creating an environment of continuous improvement through the company's principles, development of employee skills, succession planning, and communication of organization direction and alignment of the workforce to goals. The position will directly report to the General Manager. Key job responsibilities include: * Lead and guide the business team in the pursuit of profitable new business and maintain clear focus and priorities in the business unit team. * Focus on value creation - value-based pricing and identifying profitable new business opportunities. * Develop annual and long-term business plans for the business unit. * Develop sales and marketing plan to drive new business to meet business unit goals. * Oversight of the sales force as necessary to support business growth and customer retention. * Work closely with sales and the total organization regarding business targets and actions including customer meetings and sales calls. * Oversight and involvement in the cost estimation process to ensure cost accuracy and appropriate pricing. * Prioritization and coordination of servicing activities in support of the business unit goals. * Develop strong linkage with operations to ensure cost goals are met, customer needs are prioritized, and quality issues are resolved. * Drive and grow a team through coaching and mentorship, focus on the people. * Prepare and present business unit results; tell the story of the business unit as an owner would. * Performs other duties as required. * Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above. Job Requirements * BS degree in Engineering or Business. MBA a plus. * Minimum of 5-7 years' experience in functions ranging from sales, operations, finance, or engineering. * Preferably with relative working experience in the Heavy Equipment and/or genset industry (sales and after sales). * With proven leadership qualities. * Proactive, positive and customer focused attitude. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Strong work ethic and energetic mindset; strong critical thinking, problem solving abilities. Job Summary: The Sales Manager will develop and maintain strategic relationships with assigned accounts, understanding their business strategies, and developing the company's opportunities for profitable growth. It also expected that he/she coordinates with the company's sales teams on the communication and execution of account strategies in local markets. Sales Manager represents company at key customer events, industry conferences, and trade shows. The position will directly report to Business Unit Head or General Manager. Key job responsibilities include: * Seeks out opportunities to contribute to the business success through proactive involvement in team initiatives; performs other duties as assigned. * Develop and maintain strategic relationships with assigned accounts, understanding customer business strategies. Identify opportunities for profitable growth within each account and successfully pursue them to close. * Expand the network of contacts within assigned accounts, continually developing company's advocates across functions. * Successfully negotiate contracts and rebate programs with management and legal support that align with company's strategies and budgets. Collaborate with Operations and Finance in program administration and payment. * Coordinate with sales teams on the communication and execution of account strategies in local markets. * Maintain a pipeline of opportunities to successfully achieve revenue and profit growth objectives. * Effectively represent the company at account events, to include customer events, industry conferences, and trade shows.
