The Power of Speech: Monroe Philippines’ Recruitment Consultants Receive Advanced Communications Training

  • Publish Date: Posted 差不多 8 年之前

For a successful recruitment company such as Monroe Consulting Group Philippines, professional communication is essential when sourcing executive candidates and placing them with leading multinational and national businesses.

“Superior communication is vital in business presentations and negotiations,” says Jelly Ruth Villaraza, the head of Monroe Philippines’ Technology Division. “This is one of the keys to successful recruitment. It is everything in recruitment.”

Six recruitment consultants from the specialized Technology Division were the latest to benefit from Monroe’s rigorous in-house training program, attending a two-hour speech training session held by Jesse Gonzales of Speechpower. The company, based in Cubao, Quezon City, is the Philippines’ leading communications training center where students improve their skills through varied, relevant and hands-on activities such as engaging ice breakers, communications games, role-playing and simulations.

The program offers various skills in sentence construction and paragraph design and enriches the communication skills of professionals through dynamic communication activities to help students attain fluency and project confidence.

Jelly said the training benefitted the recruitment consultants by increasing competency in effective communication and business presentations. “We gained practical tips on how to effectively and confidently express ourselves and ideas in the business world,” Jelly said. “With a very accommodating facilitator and fun-filled activities, the training was fascinating and has multiple applications that we can apply in our every-day work environment.”

Executive Recruitment Consultant Arleah Parado said the speech training was informative and interactive. “The different modules they offer are very well constructed and based on the English proficiency of individual students, unlike other speech modules that are standardized,” she said. “One great thing about the training is that there is an instant application of what was taught by the instructor. The training is a valuable tool that enhances our vocabulary and hones our oral and written communication skills.”

Colleague Angel Fabia said the training increased her confidence in her ability to communicate. “They kept on reinforcing that our speech is the key to our ability to think, our attitude and our chance to progress for our self-worth,” she said. “And, the most important thing that I've acquired from this training was to apply what I have learned in the office.”

Jelly said the training of recruitment consultants was an ongoing process and a key feature of the Monroe work environment, which was appreciated by job candidates and corporate clients. Courses planning during May and June included English Conversation Fluency, Writing for Business Purposes, Public Speaking, Leadership Training and Intensive Pronunciation and Grammar Review, she added.
