Pattira's Career Journey with Monroe

I accepted a job with Monroe Consulting Group in 2014 and haven’t looked back. Becoming an Executive Recruitment Consultant and being promoted through to a Division Head has been an incredible journey and an incredibly rewarding experience in terms of personal development, career growth, financial reward and doing something that impacts on the lives of others in a positive way.

The recruitment industry in emerging markets around the world is growing. It’s an exciting industry where you rub shoulders with some of Thailand’s leading experts in their fields as well as senior human resources professionals and other senior executives from leading national and multinational corporations.

But it is not only the basic recruitment process that is important but the development of accompanying soft skills that are needed in today’s international workplace. Top of this list is a diverse workplace where different ethnic, cultural or religious backgrounds are seen as positives rather than negatives.

Another key soft skill is time management. At Monroe, recruitment consultants are encouraged, even pushed, to achieve a good work-life balance where social activities and family are recognised as key components of a healthy life and a good performance on the job. This all comes down to effective time management, which is a feature of the company’s on-the-job training.

Trainee Consultants undergo a rigorous induction training and are placed under the supervision of a mentor as they launch their careers in recruitment. And the training is ongoing throughout their careers in the industry. This has a significant impact on the growth of your career – at Monroe, talent is recognised and promotions are based on merit alone.

Joining Monroe was one of the best decisions of my life. My friends and family around me have noticed my improved maturity, business sense and world view, and are impressed with my independent lifestyle that is thanks to my career in the recruitment industry. I love my job and I am looking forward to the rest of my career.
