If you think that a good education, launching a great career and finding true in love are important factors in creating a successful and happy life, then you won’t want to miss a panel discussion on the future of technology and the jobs market in Indonesia at Binus University, Jakarta, today (October 20).
Sponsored by online news portal Tech in Asia, ‘Start-Up: Creating Your Future in the Digital Industry,’ features Dr Teddy Tjandra, the founder and CEO of education-based start-up Sukawu.com, Tina Nugraheni, a technology recruitment expert, and Razi Thalib, founder and CEO of Indonesian dating website Setipe.com.
Tina Nugraheni, the head of the Technology Division at executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia, said that given the hype surrounding start-up technology companies in the digital and E-commerce industries, she would outline the career options confronting students and new graduates.
“Only five years ago, fresh graduates in Indonesia were focused on the big corporations that dominated the business landscape,” Tina said. “Nowadays, start-up companies, particularly in the technology sector, can be a solid first choice, despite some ups and downs. I’ll be talking about the differences and providing some useful tips for job seekers in Indonesia.”
Tina said she was looking forward to sharing the stage with tech entrepreneurs Dr Teddy Tjandra and Razi Thalib, and listening to their valuable insights on launching start-up tech companies in Indonesia.
Razi graduated from Charles Sturt University in Australia in 2002 and has a varied work history spanning customer service, tech support, operations, product management and digital marketing. Setipe.com is an Indonesia-based online dating service that utilises web technology to filter, rank and connect users with the perfect partner.
Dr Teddy has an extensive and successful history in the corporate world of finance and banking. Sukawu.com, an internet based start-up company launched in 2015, is the first online portal and marketplace in Indonesia that connects students with course providers in non-formal education.
‘Start-Up: Creating Your Future in the Digital Industry’ will be held at Binus’s Anggrek Campus in Jakarta from 3:30pm to 5pm Thursday.
