Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia hosts technology discussion

Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia was pleased to recently host high-profile technology executive Soon Chua for a wide-ranging discussion that covered topics such as the financial technology (fintech) sector, the jobs market and recruiting executive-level or highly technical professionals for hard-to-fill job vacancies.

Adeline Wu, the assistant head of Monroe Indonesia’s specialised Technology Division, said Mr Chua, a pioneer in the Website marketplace in Indonesia, had spoken highly of Monroe and had been impressed by the recruitment company’s knowledge of the complex fintech and E-commerce industries.

“He was particularly impressed that our recruitment consultants went the extra mile and really made an effort to understand the cultures of their client company’s and were best placed to source and recruit the candidates that were not only the most experienced and qualified, but were also the best cultural fits.”

Adeline said Monroe Indonesia often held information-sharing sessions and other informal discussions with industry leaders to help keep abreast of the latest developments and trends. 

She said Mr Chua had worked as a regional advisor for innovative IT company Gravity R&D and for 701Search, a media company that develops and operates online marketplaces in Southeast Asia. 701Search was behind Berniaga.com, which has become part of OLX Indonesia.

“In addition to an overview of the E-commerce industry, our distinguished guest touched on a range of topics, including foreign investment in the sector in Indonesia, joint-venture start-up businesses in the tech field, the competitive nature of the industry, and the growth of cryptocurrency.”
