Nearly 60 senior executives from many of Mexico’s leading businesses were attended what has been described as a “very successful” networking event hosted by leading executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Mexico.
The formal Masterclass, held at the upmarket Cassatt restaurant in Granada, Mexico City, featured a presentation by Teresa Martín-Retortillo, executive president of the Executive Education Unit of the Spain-based IE Exponential Learning centre.
Monroe Mexico Managing Director Andres Henao said the 55 executives who attended the event included human resources directors, chief financial officers and managing directors.
“The presentation was called ‘How to live a 100-year life’, which was received very well by the audience as she talked about personal and professional facts during your working career,” he said.
“It was a very positive response; the subject was spot-on and very dynamic.”
Key points to a long and happy life were staying young for longer, taking care of your physical and emotional health, saving money and spending time with families and friends.
he said companies had a tendency not to hire executives aged over 50, unless the “executive is capable of adapting and learning.
“Go from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset where you are are willing to learn, challenge yourself and learn from mistakes/sources,” she said.
“Be humble to continue again and again.”
