On the 27th of March, Monroe Consulting Group Vietnam attended the AmCham Scholarship interview selection event. As a part of the panelist of HR/recruitment professionals, Monroe Vietnam employees, along with other experts, interviewed 120 candidates that already passed Application Screening and Ability Tests. The panelist interviewed the candidates to assess certain competencies in order to get shortlisted as the Winners.

AmCham stands for the American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam, a not-for-profit, non-governmental, and non-political voluntary membership association of American businesses in Vietnam. Since 2001, the AmCham Scholarship program has awarded 935 scholarships to senior students that have achieved academic excellence and have excelled in extracurricular activities. The students completed a rigorous three-stage assessment process, including Application Screening, an Abilities Test, and an Interview in English.

Three of Monroe Vietnam’s consultants; Thomas (Thong Vo) a Senior Executive Recruitment Consultant, Thea (Nhan Nguyen), Executive Recruitment Consultant and Tuan Pham, Senior Executive Recruitment Consultant, attended the interview selection process as an expert panelist alongside HR Heads, HR Managers and Recruitment Managers from well-reputed organisations such as Deloitte, Cargill, Intel, Suntory Pepsico, WPP, Mondelez International, Shopee, Medtronic and alongside some recruitment agencies.

Thomas, who was a previous awardee of the AmCham Scholarship in 2017, commented that the event allowed them to meet young and talented students. The interview was an open discussion about their 4-years at university covering experiences with internships, extracurricular activities, study & research, as well as their passions and objectives for their future career. He further added, “We were impressed with their achievements, such as the internship at leading technology corporation like Bosch or the research project about Artificial Intelligence application in public transportation management.”

Thomas, later on, commented that after seeing so many young aspiring students he felt that “Whether they receive this scholarship or not, we truly believe that by keeping their passion and enthusiasm, they will be successful in the future. Through this event, we feel more confident in the next generation of young professionals in Vietnam.”
